pi4t: Can I just say that die points seem...a little useless? Notice that the mean roll for a d100 would be 50.5, while the mean roll of a d110 would be 55.5: really not much of an increase, considering that that's five levels up (and the maximum that can be reached). Of course, this only lasts to level 30, but even so. I'd suggest that as your choices seem to reflect a wish to keep the discrepancy between fresh characters and veterans relatively small, you might want to simply apply the die points as a bonus (ie roll a d100+n for n die points). That would give a slightly more reasonable +10 maximum bonus (obviously).
On a similar note, I'd suggest that the hp bonus might be best going to +2, or even +4, for similar reasons.
I understand.
PLANNED changes:
-HP bonus changed to +2 per level.
-Die points now are bonuses to roll, rather than affecting the maximum roll. In other words, die points now more useful than before.
I cut out a piece of your post to respond to it separately:
While obviously this is affected by levelling, it's really not much compared with, for instance, getting the ability to use Charisma in those levels.
If you mean that skill points are more valuable than die points, then yes.. that is so.
If anyone would like to comment before we get underway on the level-up rules, please do so.
Once we are started, I would like not to change anything around because that will be chaotic (I will have to change everyone's character).
So does anyone have any further input on the planned changes? I'm planning on creating a roleplay thread soon, so any feedback is welcome!
