Yeah, I do agree that the camera screen is slightly too big. And yeah... personal preference. That's the way I like it. Also have seen much more videos without the cam, instead of with, so that's also a plus. At least in my opinion, though, now I see that the camera is not always appreciated!
You chose a great game to do your Let's Play. I love the Penumbra games!

I'm liking it too, so far! And I'm not usually into horror games, I may be discovering a new world of great games now, because I've always avoided horror.

Anyway, I'm thinking about running two games back to back, one of them would be a horror game like Penumbra, the other something more lighthearted. I'm thinking Tales of the Monkey Island, the one made my Telltale, but there seems to be a decent amount of let's play on that one. If you or anyone got any suggestions, shoot, if you don't mind.
I'd say that voiceovers on horror games are counterproductive unless you don't care to showcase the game. If what you want to show are your reactions that is fine, but it all depends on what you are trying to do with your Let's Play. For games such as Penumbra, if you want to keep the ambiance I would seriously suggest the use of subtitles.

Edit: Why not LP something from GOG? A VLP of the Crusader games would be interesting!

I don't really have the Crusader, mate. But what I do have is Broken Swords: Shadows of the Templar, which I really wanna do (the original one), but I can't record it in fraps and other software records it as a small flickering screen in the corner. So not sure what to do with that one.

Maybe someone else also had that problem with it? Or any other game that runs trough scummvm, I think.
Camstudio might work. I used that to capture ootake stuff that was not captured by FRAPS.

That is one of the ones I've tried, gave me the little flickering screen in the corner problem.
Right, the new batch has finally done uploading. Improved the aesthetic look and took some suggestion from you guys.

Also started a new game alongside with Penumbra - Puzzle Agent, so the first ep just uploaded:

And the second episode of Penumbra:

I try to be less awkward than in my very first one, feedback would once again be very much appreciated at a still extremely early stage.

You sound like Arnold Shwatzenneiger. (I've probably written his family name wrongly).

All I need is more muscle and I could take the film industry by storm. Maybe get into politics later on.

Did you try to fade a bit your image (making it more tranparent) so that we can see the game (the part that's missing) and your reaction at the same time ?

Actually, no, I only realized that it might be a problem after rendering the whole video and watching it trough. I'll try fade it out and see how it looks on tomorrow's ep. If it's no good, I'll either make the camera box smaller or move it to another corner, where it wouldn't stop people from seeing something important like part of an inventory or boxes with... words on them.
Facecams are a terrible gimmick.

That may be, I do like them, though. Wouldn't be as much fun without them for me personally, so I guess that's how I'll continue rolling.
