Haha! Just found something unexpected. I was digging through my old imageshack account and found these images I took all the way back in 2005, when Guild Wars first came out. Thought I'd share these with you guys.

I'll post my characters later, once I look them up, but I think it would be great to meet up with some GoG member in-game.
Almak, the last (fourth) pre-searing screenshot is actually post-searing, isn't it? :P
I like the pre-searing Ascalon, but I don't like Prophecies that much to have a character started there or to have a perma pre-searing char as some people have.

Errrmm...No? <_< >_>

Yeah pre-searing is neat and all but compared to other campaigns, prophecies just pales in comparison. Since than they've learned so much since than its just amazing.
Hmm I think I might try having a perma pre-searing char. Never did that before.

This is clearly post-searing picture :D
There is Ascalon city behind your character, but the sky and ground (no grass) indicate that it is after searing :)

I was being sarcastic to no avail. Yeah of course its post searing.
Then I'm sorry for my "Sarcasm detection check" fail and for my lack of Intelligence to find it out anyways :D
Too bad I gave my disk away. I wonder if I bought it again if I could access my old account; since it was a collectors edition of the game?
Just download the client from the official site and login to your account (it will download the whole game anyways), if you remember your login + password. If no, then you could try to retrieve it, IIRC

Nah I just suck at sarcasm.

I've been playing since a month or two after release. I'm a little more PvE than PvP, mostly just from playing solo so much. One of my mains is named Lord Cocytus. Feel free to Friend me, msg me, etc. Just let me know that you're from GoG. I paid for almost all of a guild hall's upgrades, so I'm not willing to leave, even if they're mostly not playing anymore, but like I said, friend and shoot me a message as needed. Would be nice to play with some more active people...
I play all classes, although some more than others, of course.

OK, after 3+ years away from GW I reinstalled the client and have my old characters again.
I am not sure when anyone is one, but it might be fun to play together. Most of my characters a low level (I think 13 is the highest), so I am only somewhat helpful.
Just got the nightfall campaign. I really like the setting. Paragon has a lot of skills for REALLY specific situations, I need some tips on how to play with him...
Check wiki.guildwars.com for advices and pvxwiki.com for builds (like imbagon).
But I personally use 3 spear skills (1 energy based, mainly spear of lightning, and 2 adrenaline based -barbed spear, wild throw and so on. Only if facing mesmers with skill soothing images while my heroes don't have enough hex removal skills I use 2 energy based spear attacks). Then I use anthem of flame for some extra damage, adrenaline based shout for energy management ("go for the eyes!"), the sunspear pve skill ("there's nothing to fear!") for damage reduction, the 7th skill is optional (I use signet of aggresion for some adrenaline management, but anything fits there) and the last one is rez skill (signet of return).
I start with anthem of flame (sometimes followed with signet of aggression for additional adrenaline), then spear of lightning and while my melee heroes are closing in, I use "there's nothing to fear!" for some protection. After that I spam spear attacks and use adrenaline shout if energy runs low.
Note that this is the build I use and I am no pro, but so far (the desolation) I had no major problems with it.

What secondary profession did you choose? I recommend warrior, it compliments paragon skill set direction nicely.
Here is a build with which I went through both Nightfall and Prophecies:

Also this build seems to be quite versatile:

The only advice I can give you is don't tank, unless you're specked to do so (farming etc.). Paragons are support characters (in most cases). Assemble your party with that in mind. Always have some warriors (or dervishes) to tank for you. Paragons work best at range, so take that in consideration and put some distance between you and the targets. Other than that they aren't very difficult one you get the hang of it (which should be pretty fast) so just enjoy the game. :)
