Loving the sylvari redesign. The first iteration wasn't bad but it just looked too "childish" for my tastes. Now they look more mature and plant-like, and just plain awesome.

I think I'll try making a female spring sylvari warrior with pink flowery hair and find her a name that means "ever-blooming rainbow" or something like that.

I hope in GW2 not everyone rolls a human like they do in WoW, Hoping that all the races can at least stay fairly even.

I will be rolling a Charr Guardian since it's kind of an odd mix :P

I'm going to have a Human Ranger just for the continuation of my GW 1 guy, but I still have high hopes that the last class to be announced is the Mesmer, so I'm thinking a Norn mesmer or maybe a Asura engineer.

I think what will matter most for what my first class will be is how much I manage to unlock in the Hall of Monuments.

My first character in Guild Wars 2 will be an human female engineer (the closest class to my personal favorite in GW1, the Ritualist) called Angie Neer. :)

Been looking at the various GW2 videos coming out of Gamescom. There's a few interesting ones :

Charr starter area:
TotalBiscuit's WTF is Guild Wars 2? Part 1
TotalBiscuit's WTF is Guild Wars 2? Part 2

Elite event/Boss battle:
Bossfight against Tequatl the Sunless

PvP:
Engineer footage with commentary from Isaiah Cartwright

Overall looks pretty good. I especially liked the Pvp footage and the bigger group battles in the Charr starter area videos. Tequalt looked a bit too static for my tastes though, I wish he'd move around more (or maybe "jump" around like the dragons in DAO). At the very least he should be looking like he's defending himself more. Right now he just looks like he's staring at the people attacking him and wondering what's going on.

Yeah Totalbiscuit is amazing at first looks and i like what he produced from gamescom so far, i saw those videos aswell and as someone who will be playing as Charr as my first race i was very excited.

Only problem now is that i want to get at least 30/50 hall of monument items but i really can't get intrested in guild wars 1 long enough to earn anything :/

Don't know your in-game name so can't check what you've already accomplished, but some easy stuff to add to HOM are : Black Moa/Phoenix/Black Widow/Animal companion/M.O.X., Chapter completion, Sorrow's Furnace, Fissure of Woe and cheap white minipets.

Also, if you have a lot of money : destroyer/oppressor/tormented weapons, elite armors, any sort of minis and armor pieces for your heroes (those are easy to earn for yourself but it takes a while).

But yeah, it's gonna be hard getting there if you're not motivated.

Uhh, i just went back onto guild wars today to try earn some more monument stuff but got bored within 2 hours, although i did add M.O.X to the hall of monuments.

I know it sounds silly, but i hope i can just buy the items up to 30/50 for like £10 from the guild wars shop then i would save a lifetime instead of grinding it :P

That would devaluate other people's work and cause cataclysmic amount of QQ, which may or may not result in gigantic implosion. :P

They did say when they announced the HoM that it will be the only way to get those rewards and considering most of the rewards are items from guild wars 1, they wont have the have meaning to someone who hasn't played the first one.

Playing with others is a good way to make the game less tedious.
