Weclock: oh I've been playing :D

Hey weclock, what's your character's name?
I ended up joining guild Slayerz of the Dragon. Not trying to mess your operation, but it's pretty good and active, in case people wanna join (PM me Bizarre Liadon I guess). :)
Damn MMORPGs, I always found them boring, but the more you play, the more you play! >:-z

Almak: Haha! Just found something unexpected. I was digging through my old imageshack account and found these images I took all the way back in 2005, when Guild Wars first came out. Thought I'd share these with you guys.
Old character selection screen:

Some screens of pre-searing:

The guild hall of the first guild I ever joined:

First ever Halloween event:

This is cool :) not so different from what it looks like today though, except character selection. Is there more than one type of guild hall? It seemed to me they all look like an old temple, sat someplace on the Burning Isles (poor choice of name for isles, by the way).

His screenshots don't really show much of the UI. In beta, the UI had a different skin. Also, I don't believe the whole pre-searing area would have changed much because it wasn't one of the the first ones they worked on; Kryta was what they demoed at their E3 for everyone event. You started off at level 15, went through a tutorial mission and got dumped into Lion's Arch. I believe the missions near Lions Arch did change a bit by the final release.
Oh yeah! Guild Wars is still my favorite MMO and I still play it, altough not as regularly as I used to.
What I usually do is Bounty Hunts, Zaishen Missions, Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry, RA (but not very often), hunting for pets (thanks to the Zaishen Menagerie) and some other stuff.
Add "Rikardo Chackan" if you wanna play with me sometimes :D
I always wanted to get in to Guild Wars. But i found the original campaign to be really uninspiring so i quit. I got the first expansion, but the whole Asian-theme never stuck on me either. Is Nightfall any difference? Hows the PvE? I never PvP in Guildwars, that kind of PvP they are offering doesn't attract me at all.

PvE in Nightfall is IMO the best from the three campaigns (Eye of the North is an expansion, not standalone campaign). It isn't as long as Prophecies, nor as short as Factions).
It has african theme, most of the civilised part of the continent is savannah (Kourna + Vabbi) and the difficulty is quite normal, except the final missions + explorable areas in the Realm of Torment. The two Nightfall exclusive professions are Paragon, using shouts and chants to protect the party or enhance damage dealing of your party members, and the second one is Dervish, which uses many PBAoE skills (so running into the fray and unleash the AoE damage is often the way to go).

It sounds fun. Im trying to play Prophecies now with a newly made Elementalist to see if i can get in to the game. So far im running around pre-searing trying to find all my spells and armour-pieces.
Heh, I was into Guild Wars, once upon a time... I finished the whole Prophecies campaign, and had gotten a short distance into Factions as well when I realized two things about myself.
1. I hate depending on other people to help me. If I can't do something on my own or with a group of henchmen, chances are that any group I get together to attack a problem with will not do a whole lot better. Guilds are slightly more reliable than random stragglers that you find online, but not much more reliable. If I had a dollar for every mission that I've had to do over several times because of the incompetence of my allies... Anyway, I always enjoyed soloing more than playing with a group, and that defeats have the point of a massively MULTIPLAYER online game.
2. MMOs really suck down your time. After a lot of skipped meals and homework left late, I realized that not being able to save and quit whenever I wanted to was really interfering with my real life.
So, yeah. Guild Wars was educational for me, and although I did enjoy it for a while, I have resolved never to play anything like it again.
I have prophecies, Nightfall, and the Eye of the North expansion. Is there a time and a place GOGrs can get together?
Place is no problem at all. We can meet for example in someone's guild hall, which is considered a core location (so it doesn't matter which campaign you own, you can still get there), because it is in Battle isles (Grand temple of Balthazar).
The time, however, is a major problem, considering the time zones. Everyone who wants to come should write their play time and we should find the time when at least the majority can meet (I don't believe that everyone who wants will be able to come).
This week I work in the morning and my play time is ~3:00 - 7:00 PM, weekends are ~ 2:00 - 8:00 PM (all times are CET, it should be GMT+1).
yes, I got it working
Weyla Inchani is one of my characters names
I think Nightfall is most user friendli thanks to Heroes witch are much better than henchmen. I didnt finished any of campains, because i rather like soloing. So im just time to time making new charcter to play, and i dont know why but i really like presearing in original campaign.

Well I have a guild hall we can meet in. I can play in the mornings between about 7 am and 10 or 11 pm and in the evenings between 6 pm and 9:30 pm or so.. I'm in Arizona and right now we are on Pacific time here in the good ol' US of A
