In light of recent press the series got recently I decided to go back to one of my all time favourite games, Guid Wars. And as good as the game was and still is I thought it could be even better to play it with all of you great folks here on GoG boards. So if you already own the game or contemplate on buying it I invite you all to play this excellent game with me.
I have been playing since the game first came out in 2005 and since then played and finished all of the 4 campaigns. I have my own guild which I made specifically for myself (just because I felt like it) which I would be happy to add you guys. Primarily I am a PvE oriented player but am not adverse to PvP.
I am Damu Atum in game. So if you want to do some questing or just hang out feel free to add me to your friends list.
I'll also gladly answer any questions you guys might have about the series. Or if you just want to discuss the game in general feel free to do so.

Like every other MMO I've played, I did it for a bit but it got boring fast, so I left. I'm not a big fan of those sorts of games.
I play gw, but I am not a pro. So far I have finished only Prophecies and Nightfall, Factions is closing to end (Harvest temple mission).
I have my own guild, but we are only two - me and my friend, but the guild was created only because of her (her english is bad, so I am her personal translator too). We play only PvE so far (and we are allied with the Luxons).
My in-game name is Kyra Stormeye (ritualist)

Added to friends list. :) Nice to see there are more GW players here on the boards. Though I suspected that you played beforehand. Your avatar is a dead give-away. :P
Oh and hey, if you and your friend need any help with the Factions end-game and I'm online, I'll be glad to assist. I'm no pro by any stretch of the imagination but I'll do what I can. :)

I have just arrived at home from work, so I will log in and add you to my friends as well.
And thanks for the offer, I appreciate it :)
I've been tempted to get it, since it's in the news again. But only because there is no monthly fee, and only if I find a group of people I get along with and know, to spend time with playing.
Tried plenty of MMOs in the past. so far, I've not found one I could get into.
Is there a week/fortnight/month trial available?

Yup. There's a trial available here:

If you decide to give it a try, look me up if I'm online I'll quest with you for a while. The game is much more fun at the beginning if you're playing with someone.
I find it soooooo boring!
I've had this game for a few years and always after the searing, I just lose interest, that's what the developers get for reusing the same geometry! send me someplace different!

Prophecies, which is the original campaign was pretty dull visually but I think they've learned a lot since then. Both standalone expansions show a lot more dedication as far as art direction is concerned. My favourite (and arguably most varied) so far have to be Nightfall. All though Eye of the north has its definitive pluses as well.

I've been tempted to get the trilogy off of steam for $49.99, but I simply can't afford it right now.

A word of caution. If you buy the Trilogy you will not be able to associate it to your existing account since from what you have said I gather that you already own Prophecies so you will essentially be buying a part of the game you already own. I recommend you to go to their official page and recover your account information, than download the game client they provide and re-download prophecies. After which either buy the standalone expansions from their integrated online shop or at your local retailers. Steam versions are somewhat overpriced anyways. And if its the Steam Community integration that you want just add it as a non-steam game. Community features work perfectly (tested myself).

my existing account is halved with the mother of my children.. I wouldn't mind starting over anyway, seeing as I don't remember what combos, etc that my characters used.
i always liked the covers to these games when i saw them in the store for some reason, but i'm much more of a single player gamer, so i never picked them up.
I wish i could get SP versions of a few MMOs that are out there. although i guess that kinda misses the point ;-)

Guild Wars is not an MMO. It uses instances for people to be able to meet up and interact. Outside those the game is essentially single player experience with co-op possibilities. If you want to invite some friends into your group and play like that you can do that. Otherwise if you just want to play it by yourself that is perfectly fine as well. You will not miss any content while playing like that and it is entirely doable.
