So after all the fuss of the countdown and the 120 page thread, all we have got so far is 3 activision gaves and no promos. Call me letdown.
What were you expecting exactly? Fanfare? Ticker Tape parade?
A mass relese of games would be good or a decent promo.
GOG release one or two games a week. This has always been the pattern. They need to keep up a steady stream of releases and they need to tweak games to run on modern OS's which takes time.

Jeez, so much whining in so little time... You're such a great gamer that a couple of days after buying them, you already have finished all the games here on GOG ?

Wasn't it Three Activision games and DarkFall2

So you don't think a countdown was excessive for what you have stated as standard release schedule?

The Countdown was for getting Activision as a Publisher on board. Who cares how fast or many they release as long as its steady and they all work right.

Unlike places such as Steam, GOG tend to thoroughly test their games before release. If you want a mass release of games, are you prepared to wait upwards of 6 months with no releases at all, so that they have time to check all games to be mass released? No, I didn't think so.
And again, unlike Steam, GOG will in fact refuse to release a game if they discover a problem with it -- which is probably what happened on Tuesday (hence the surprise release of Dark Fall 2) -- which was most likely one of a few reserve games that GOG hold on to for such cases. So now, I guess you're asking then, why the didn't release Dark Fall on Tuesday. Well again, most likely because they were working as hard as possible to solve whatever problem is holding back the release of whatever Activision game didn't get released this week.
As for no promo, I mean, come on. Games here are already cheap. Is it really that much of a let down to be denied a $1.19 or so discount on a cheap game already? Promos are nice once in a while, but having one every week is actually over kill. And this can be seen by the constant whining of "repeat sales" or "disappointing choices" for sales on Steam every time they put a new game on sale.
So I guess, it's either whine at the lack of releases/sales or whine about the choices of releases or sales. Either way, is everyone going to ever be happy? Nope of course not. So please, don't waste your time, the GOG's staff time or our time by complaining about something that isn't even worth complaining about in the first place.

This.
If you don't understand the importance of Activision joining GOG then you don't understand the gaming industry.

Exactly.
And Jacob, why do you feel the need to start one of these conversations 3-4 times a week? Just find where you left off the last time and add your latest griping to that one. If it was over something new, fine...start a new thread. It really isn't.

Dunno how any of it is a letdown...
9.99 USD = 14.5 NZD
5.99 USD = 8.65 NZD
You could always buy elsewhere, store, Steam, Impulse, or whatever, There are options. If you feel so letdown by gog, then you could stop worrying about what gog does and go elsewhere.
Your right how many pages... and? half of them guessing within minutes of each other...
GoG did not make a 120 page thread... we did... Everyone who posted... from every inane guess to chatting with each other of OUR opinions. When you see a thread you have a choice to either;
A. Read It.
B. Ignore It.
Obviously your upset with the idea they they used a countdown as a way to garner interest.... And you feel cheated............Ok... so how many threads are currently out there on the internet that countdown how many new games that are not even out yet... getting more replies then that thread did....
Hype is hype, be it a 2,000 page thread on Steam about BioShock 2, or 2k telling people if you pitch a perfect game in their new baseball they will give you 1,000,000 USD...........
If you feel let down because one of the biggest publishers in the ENTIRE business signed up with GoG, and as they get the games compatible for newer OS they will be released, which if you think you can do a better job at making a game compatible then by all means apply to GoG.
I feel letdown because I feel I am being cheated because I never got the last burger last night..... /sigh.... what's that old saying "Cry More Noob?"
Not a letdown for me at all, i was pumped while the Countdown was going on. I have to say i'm just as pumped to at the games they've released and the games that I anticipate them releasing. I'm sorry that you were letdown though, can't please everyone i guess.
