Hi everyone!

I've been thinking for some time on asking for the possibility of letting users purchase the extras gog gives for certain games alone. For instance, I would happily pay a small amount for the Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate Saga or Beyond Good and Evil extras (OST's, reference cards not included in the retail versions I own, artworks...).

So, how about ask for 1-1.5 €/$ for each "extra pack"? If you purchase the game, the extras come free of charge as usual, BUT, if you already own the game and don't want it again, you can get the extras.
Then there's a sale where that game whose extras you already own is for only 3.00€/$ but you have already paid for the extras, so the system fixes the game value (Only for you, no gifting allowed) on 3.00 - 1.50.
And you see a game you already own for JUST 1.50, available for download, with the comfort it adds. Then you bite. Or maybe not, but hey, theres a 1.50 already in the gog.com team pockets.
No.
that sounds a lot like nickle-and-diming, which is probably exactly what GoG wants to avoid.
This is already possible: you can buy the extras for 5.99$ or 9.99$, and in addition to that you even get the DRM-free downloadable version of the game, for free! ;)

GOG wants to sell games.

Extras should convince you to buy it even if you already have cd.

So there's no reason for GOG to sell extras alone.
But you're paying for the game and the expansions if the game has them, the extras are free side things. They would have to offer them up for download for free, if you could do that without purchasing the game then they wouldn’t be bonuses for buying from GOG any more.

Doesn't sound like a good idea at all

I'm going for "no" on this one
I'm paying between 6$ - 10$ for the extras and I get a free game!

I buy most games here for support of GOG and for extras, and with those prices, I can't complain. I would love to see more extras on some games though.
Duh. I don't even play the games, I just buy them for the extras. It's a ripoff, $6-$10 for something like that, but it's still better than nothing.

I'm kidding, of course, but I just realised that I worded it so that one might assume I'm serious. :)

I just checked Amazon and various other sites, and game soundtracks seem to cost from $10 to $30. GOG games are already cheaper than that. Now, then, you suggest that because they come as a free bonus, they should be sold separately at tenth of their normal price? Methinks your perception of value is skewed by the cheap pricing.

Seriously, $10 for a game soundtrack isn't much at all.

These people pretty much share my sentiment.

Eh, just wait for a sale. 5 bucks isn't that bad if you really want the extras. Also then you get to see it on your GOG shelf. :)

Exactly. And if one buys the game while it's on sale, it's even more of a bargain. :)
:okayguy:

Just realize that "not much at all" depends STRONGLY for each one. Not everyone can afford spend 5-10 bucks in games they already own just for the extras (Specially if your'e interested in LOT of other games you don't own), so I was trying to get a "nice" solution (And yeah, although I'm employed, I have to have a STRONG control on my expenses) for my extra's-lust.

Anyway, I do understand the "extras are just a gift with the game" thing. Other day, maybe ^^
