stoicsentry: Thanks! Editing on the GOG forum is rough right now. It should be there now.

We would love to have you if you would like to join!
I really would, but I've never played a tabletop RPG before. This one looks simple enough for me to get a quick grasp on, though - could I play? :D

(I mean, I'd be a bit of nooblet, but if you didn't mind stupid questions...)

Reading the forum entries right now!

Absolutely. We're in the middle of a quest now, but one will be started shortly.

Once you create your character, you're free to choose which quests to sign up for ---or not.

As for difficulty, I'm striving to make it as easy as possible. The main purpose of the game is story creation, not so much with the mechanics!

After quests are completed, I'm writing them up into short stories. :)

We've been doing this for awhile now, though we've changed it around a lot since the beginning.

About the stupid questions bit, don't worry. I've screwed up more (as the moderator) than any of the players ever have! So, you'll be fine!

T-minus 5 minutes until "Exile" (Landeril) stops in to serve as the ambassador again.

Oh wonderful! Then count me in! I've read everything on the forums except for a few of the classes, going back to finish those now (read the magic ones first, I do love me a support mage).

Great!
Name: Father Arkades Le'Minz
Class: Cleric
Race: Human
Personality: Kind, warmhearted, surprisingly naive, and overly moralistic, but a good listener. Usually.
Physical Traits: In his late 40's. Tall and slender, with prematurely graying mouse-brown hair. No identifying marks or scars, but uses a cane to compensate for a crippled leg.

Greetings Father Arkades Le'Minz. You have been accepted into the Legion of the Shield. The Legion was established only a few weeks ago, following the battle of Northbrook.

The rest of the guild can fill you in on some of the history involved, but I assure you that the guild's mission is of the utmost importance for the future of our world (we call our world "Vue", you can see a map of the world on post 1 of this thread.)

Currently, 6 of our men are on a mission in Hammerhall. One of our number, a Knight named Kemuel, was abducted by the wicked regime there. He was one of our commanders, and thus it is of vital importance to the future of the guild that they rescue him.

I shall add your name to the active roster (post 2.) You are now eligible to sign up for quests. To be informed when a new quest is posted, sign up for the mailing list (see post 1 of this thread).

The guild is strapped for cash at the moment, so we have nothing special to provide you with. However, you have been assigned a Mace as your starting weapon. If you find a new weapon during a quest, or buy one, you can change it at that time.

Welcome and thanks for joining. You can view your record: HERE.

My thanks. I am ready and willing to accompany a party on any missions that are currently available. I believe it vitally important that the men and women of our company have spiritual guidance on their journeys.

I've edited the post to include your character sheet, which you can take a look at now if you like.

(Just wanted to clarify to the current players: you do not need to re-create your characters because of the rules. They remain exactly the same. However, you will have to define your class. I'm going to pick the class that seems closest to the way your character was before, but you can disagree with me and pick a different class for yourself.)

Neat! Thank you! Will I have other options for weapons? I would have preferred he just carried his cane and used it as an improvised staff or club when necessary. Not exactly the smitey type, Father Le'Minz.

Sure. There are lots of different types of weapons. I'll allow you to bring your cane, and make it your primary weapon.

We'll stow away your guild-issued Mace into your items backpack for now. Maybe you can sell it or trade it at a later time.

Your character has been updated to indicate this.
