Hi I am thinking about buying left for dead the original and the number 2 one too for xbox 360.

I am not a hard core player. But sometimes I need a game that has different levels like beginners or hard. Is this a game I will not get so frustrated in. Also, does this game has like an arena where I just keep killing endless zombies until I die?

How did you like the game? Is the number 2 better than the first one. Thanks...

The MAIN GAME is killing alot of zombies until you finish, alone or with people you play with online.

Yes, the banter between the characters on each level is fun, as is the environments/situations/etc. The waves of zombies are fun to kill even by yourself, or with friends. I played alone though for the most part, though.

You kill some zombies(in isolated groups or waves) and find safehouses where survivors wrote messages on the walls for you to read, and then battle some more as you try to get to the end goal. There's also lots of fan made missions for the games so that's a plus.

(I never played L4D2 but I hear it's even better a game.)
You might set it on Easy. I don't know how good you are with dual analog shooters but the demo seemed to assume you were above average iirc. You might have more fun with Dead Island as a zombie shooter/rpg thing.
Imo, L4D2 is better in every aspect. They even have the campaigns from L4D1 integrated into L4D2, so the really isn't any reason to buy L4D1 anymore.

And it is awesome fun, both games. Most players are decent, so random coop works very well.

Edit: I played the PC version, which gets weekly updates, no clue how it is handled on the box

The game has barely any story in it... it has some strange way of presenting the story, but you will barely notice it since most of the times you'll be running forward and killing zombies... over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over again.

If you're after something more involving, I wouldn't recommend it.

The mods are the thing that save this game (1 and 2), on its own, it is not very good.

EDIT: On XBOX, if you cannot get mods, don't buy the game. It becomes boring increadibly fast.

All I can say is that the PC versions are very good. L4D2 is in many ways the better game of the two. But I prefer the original four characters.

If you have a team that will stick together then you shouldn't find it too hard on Easy. But the games do like to tear apart players who don't (there's an AI director controlling the zombie waves depending on how well you're doing).
I dont have xbox live. Is there a way I can play survival mode with computer bots helping me?

I have the game gears of war 3 where you can use bots for your teammates.

This would be so cool. If this game does not have bots for teammates/ Is there another zombie game that does?

Thanks...

This. I happened to win L4D2 from the winter Steam achievement thing. I never played the first, but I gave this a go and loved it. Loads of fun and the banter between characters is great. I can't compare to L4D1, but #2 is definitely good and it was not a game that I ever saw myself liking, but having played it, I see that I would have missed out on something good.

EDIT: As you probably realized, this is for the PC not the 360 version. Though the 360 version is going to be similar, as others have noted.

Your teammates are bot controlled when you play alone. :)

I can't vouch for the Xbox, but on the PC I played (almost) nothing but singleplayer, with bots helping me out. Here's how the game works:

1) The game is split up into lengthy missions that are comprised of individual levels. You play through each in order to finish the 'story' for that mission. In L4D2, at least, the stories are kind of linked together to make one big story, but it's totally irrelevant.

2) The AI is actually pretty darn competent and helpful. They don't even insult you when you get knocked unconscious over and over. They do startle the bleeding witch a lot, though -.-

3) The Steam version for PC gets near-constant updates, and the user-made maps are pretty nice too. I don't know if they have updated Xbox with the free expansions from L4D1, but if they have, you should be fine. If not, you're getting less than half the game PC players get.

4) These are FAST zombies. My reflexes are not good enough to play the game competently. I mean, they really aren't. I use a shotgun most of the time and depend on teammates to get me through. (And eventually just quit bothering with the game).

5) It does get old fast. Zombies run at you, you kill them, they run at you, you kill them. If you can stomach (even more) extreme violence and you don't mind a lot of profanity, Dead Island is a much better game. I did stop playing that one because it was more than a bit over the top for me, but it is a far more traditional, appealing zombie apocalypse game.
Just a word of warning, the Xbox version doesn't get any updates, and any extra downloadable levels cost money, including the survival mode in the first game.

It's a fantastic game, but like all Valve games it's really bad on the 360. Sorry to be that guy.
I'd also consider Killing Floor. It's different than Left4Dead, but it's very VERY good in its own right. Gunplay feels satisfying, teamplay is important, it will run on almost anything, and it's just way more fun than it has any business being. Pretty fun in single player too.

EDIT: oops, just noticed that you specified 360. :P

The first L4D was rather decent. The price that it goes for these days is great value really. I would recommend it.
I never played the 2nd one but watched my brother do so. In my opinion, it was inferior. But that effectively goes against what people have said thus far in this thread so feel free to ignore it.

You can ask people to fork out -50% off Valve coupons on this forum. I'd give you my last one but I'm currently attempting to persuade my friend to buy the game so need to hang on to it. Anyway, there are plenty of spare ones lying about.

Oh and basically what jefequeso said - try Killing Floor. I picked it up from a sale a while ago and have been having a blast with it. Great game!
I do have a trial coupon for the game, so let me know if you want to try it out and I'll gladly pass that on!
