- in all seriousness though, the whole thing was 100% clobbered out for about the same time the forum here was unpostable - as you'll be hitting prime net recreation time over under, I'd give it until about 10pm local time at least

Thanks for the heads up. Any chance to get free games out of Steam is a good day and also the only chance of me getting new games on steam.

So I have to install the whole thing in the next hours?! O_O

Damn, it was a pain in the *** to load the Store page for hours and being able to click on "Install Game", and now this... (:P)
My brother also activated the game and has been downloading the game for hours now, but his install is still missing 7 GB. For some reason, it's downloading really slow... Most likely the reason is for millions downloading the game at the same time.

I'm not going to make it... --_--

Seems hardly worth the effort
And aussies have to use a vpn and workarounds to get the non violence version etc.....

Earlier before when I was trying to get it, Steam kept crashing.
But a free game is a free game, so why not?

German users should go to the Austrian or British Steam websites (with the ?cc=GB or ?cc=AT trick) to get the uncut version. There's no billing process, so it will work on this seldom occasion.

I know the blog post explicitly says "install", but I don't think you have to literally download and install the game to keep it. Rather, it means that you need to click on the "Install Game" button on the store page to add it to your library otherwise "if you don’t [click on the] install [button], it goes back to its regular price and you miss out!"

At least, that's my interpretation of it based solely on my experience when they gave Portal away for free 3 years ago (it's still in my Steam library after multiple installs/deletions). It seems strange to have a literal "download and install" requirement otherwise.

You don't need to install it to hdd, just press Play or Install on store page.
