klaymen: except for some Valve fanboys:
Yeah it's pretty amazing how some people fail to see where Valve is heading towards. I can understand why people are excited about L4D2, even those who currently own L4D, like some of the good folk here, but there are those who defend Valve to death with the most ridiculous defensive statements like "burn those who say L4D isn't complete!" or Derek Smart's (not) awesome "it's all part of modern business practice" to justify churning out a sequel so quickly.
I too agree L4D is fun, but content wise, it's sorely lacking. You can play a game over 20 times, and clock 50 hours on that, but that's not covering up for lack of content if you're basically using the same tactics and strategy all the time. With Quake or Battlefield, it's different, since your tactics are ever changing, but what change of tactics are there in L4D, when the most effective is always identified to be one spot in every gauntlet?
I'm glad they're fixing these in L4D 2, but the fact remains that people who bought L4D 1 and provided feedback on these issues are like beta testers. Oh look Tom now we know what the players really like, we can go on to making a new patch for L4D 1 but we'll put them in a new package and sell it all over again!
(I am, at this point, assuming Left 4 Dead 2 isn't free, and if Valve has any business sense at all, they would persue their goal of maximizing profits)
