yar... i REALLY want to live off-campus where the ports aren't blocked like crazy. I can't play any online games (except ones that require really really low bandwith) because the only way to get around it is by some tunneling, which slows the connection waaaay too much (or I haven't found a good proxy server yet due to the fact I don't have my own).
I miss online games like this... *tear*

your campus heads are retards. Gaming is educational and can factor into your education, I don't care if you go to UTI, gaming effin' helps.

Weclock: Left4Dead on Steam
Steam is selling L4D for 50% off.

Sold! Thanks for the tip Weclock :)
I'd totally buy L4D if my computer's mobo or videocard isn't fried at the moment. I'm not even sure what the problem is.
If anyone knows what a high pitched screeching noise along with the sb_power LED lighting up means, I'd sure appreciate the help.

is it a series of annoyingly loud repeated beeps or just a long horrible noise as if a cat was being run over by a steamroller or like someone had put paris hilton's CD on?
If the former, google the motherboard model and "beep codes"

Can you be more precise? Any other significant details? Can the PC even start up? It sounds like your mobo's dead / dying; I'm quite sure it isn't the gfx. Is your mobo still under warranty? What brand is it?
It's a good game but too many noobs screwing it if you don't play with friends only! :D
I usually play with just one friend and we don't see so many noobs screwing around. And if so... well, is just a game.

And what where you exactly when you started the game? a seasoned pro? i have no friends as of yet on steam :'( so have just been playing with random people and its been really good. I suck and sometimes so do other people but you just do your best to help each other.

In some games, screwing around is half the fun sometimes. When the demo only had those two maps, to extend the play time, towards the end of the map, our team would start shooting each other in back and throwing molotovs at each other while zombies swarmed the subject of our hazing. Ah good fun.
But to answer BladderOfDoom's question, yes I'm a pro at all games after no more than a whole decade of replaying the same maps over and over using the cheapest weapon available while exploiting every single glitch that only 1337 players know about.

add Weclock and join the GOG steam group, I'll invite you. :D

Honestly, I get the opposite. When I play in pubs, I get casual or serious playing. When I play with some of my friends, then we jack around.

You (and anyone else) can add ChaosTheEternal (also a member of the GOG Steam Group) and just hit me up whenever I'm online to see if I'm good for a run.

No! No! No!, I was not speaking about the beginners, I was speaking about the players who go alone, about players who use exploits etc. You've misunderstood me :P

great.... after few years i forgot about CS, and now i am addicted again, and worst is that now i am aboard on work trip, only with my NB with SiS650 graphics chip, old UFO games and lots of work... but fear me, 'cause at friday I am gonna kill more of those zombies, few achievement still left :P
I bought L4D this weekend when i saw steam discounting it, ihave never thought that something could be as good as CS (real CS for real gamers, not this kiddish CS:S)
