(Captain) Claw, one and a half months ago. Doesn't run well on Win 8, sadly. :(
Blair Witch Volume One: Rustin Parr. It's actually both a sequel to Nocturne and a prequel to the films. It's great stuff, well-designed with comparatively great voice acting (the late Lynn Mathis as Stranger and Candace Evans as Doc Holliday put in some decent performances - Evans' English accent is actually not too bad considering the calibre of the material).

Also creepy and freaky as fuck, which can't be claimed for many games these days.

Oh man! I wish I still had that game! First time I've seen anyone mention it.

Have you tried any of these (the Ultimate Pack works particularly well on modern PCs, can't speak for Win8 though).

F1ach: Can you get it to run on win 7?

My non gog game installed was called Revenant

Gog would be a good home for it.

MaxFulvus: Yes, try the steps :
- install the game in a specific file (name it "games" for example) and not in Program files.
- put the shortcut in W98 compatibility mode
- check "Execute as Administrator".
- play
Yes, I made a separate folder for it when I tried, I'll give it another shot, win 7 may have improved somewhat since I last tried it out, maybe its more accommodating. Thanks for the reply :)
About a month ago I installed NOLF 2 and played it again. Not quite sure if it's old enough to be on this thread but man, is it a good game. After using the latest official patch I didn't even have any issues on Win7 64.

Yes, I've used the 64-bit custom installer - without it I wouldn't have been able to even install the game. IIRC, I didn't download anything else though. The issue I'm having with the game is that it's slow, lagging badly and doesn't play smoothly. Which Ultimate Pack are you referring to? I couldn't find it among the downloads.

It's not a good idea to link directly to this site. It has the full game available for download and I'm pretty sure that the copyright holders haven't given their permission to do so.

Maybe you could try applying the 1.3 update or the unofficial 1.4 update and run it again?

Good point. I forgot that the Ultimate Pack I was referring to is actually the full game. I've used it myself as the original CD didn't work on Win7. It has a full complement of patches, fixed and additions that would be a nightmare to implement individually.

Would be great if you guys could remove it from the quotes.

Ah, for some reason it's not there after all - apparently it's a TPB link. Nonetheless, it's pretty much the only viable way to get it working on modern OSs. I could have sworn I'd downloaded it from the Claw Recluse.

As far as lagginess is concerned, have you tried one of the alternative DirectDraw DLLs like ddhack or cnc-ddraw? Chances are you get some kind of error message, but it's always worth a try.

If they're still alive, they should give GOG permission to fix the game for modern systems already. All problems solved. ;)
(I'd actually buy it again here, even though I already own the DVD.)

I'll try that later, thanks!

Yeah, I'd wish for that too. Still, it's a pretty bad road with Monolith, as all of their properties are either scattered all over the place or in the hands of Warner Bros. Who knows, maybe after Witcher 3's release (which is published by Warner Bros in America), GOG could sign up with them.
Tony Tough and the Night of Roasted Moths from DotEmu.
