We'll be removing a number of games from the GOG.com catalog - here's your last call to get them with a special discount!

Today, we're here to honor the promise we gave you to announce ahead of time whenever we're taking a game down from sales. We wanted to give you one last chance to get the titles we're delisting with a considerable discount, and the partners involved agreed. There are 35 games on that list and you can get them all for up to 80% off until Tuesday, September 2, at 3:59AM GMT. Any title you buy will remain in your collection even after it's removed from our catalog, so you can always download and re-download the installers and bonus content. Check out the promo page to see which games this concerns.

We're still ironing out a few details. For now, the promo pages, like the one for the Last Chance Special, list all the game prices only in US dollars. But don't freak out: if you chose to use your local currency you will see the prices in local currency in checkout, and you can still finalize the transaction in local currency. We hope to have this issue fixed within the next weeks.

...erm, sorry to see Nordic go, but hey, if they can't relate to a DRM free business that has probably made them a ton of money for often sub-par games, then what can you do.

It's not a bug, it's a feature! Seriously, I'd appreciate it if this was kept. I quite liked how during the summer sale regionally priced games like Age Of Wonders III were available at a discounted flat worldwide price.

I really hope that Nordic games comes around eventually. This clearly wasn't planned for a long time since some titles were only added to gog in the last months.

Starmaker: The fundamental error in your stance is that there are poor countries in the eurozone where a steak dinner costs 7 Euro, and yet the people living there are still charged the Rich-Euro price on GOG.

Hell, last weekend I rode a bicycle from Moscow (average salary $1500) to Tver (average salary $700) through Verbilki (average salary $250). Obviously wage differences within a country can't be taken into account without a massive restructuring of the economy, but e.g. Slovaks are right to be annoyed about being charged more than Americans on the same damn website.
When I lived in Georgia everything on Steam was cheaper than it was in America. Being in favor of regional pricing means wanting games to be cheaper in countries with lower wages and cost of living. If a publisher charges French prices in Georgia then the publisher is being an idiot, but that's their mistake to make.

GOG is in a tough position, though, given how much controversy going back on fair pricing originally caused. They were forced to either give in or have these games removed. Personally, while I think it's BS that everyone outside the US gets shafted, it is because of higher taxes so there is an expense behind those higher prices. However, I do live in the US so I can't really blame those who won't put up with it.

Odonnell435: Now all we need is for GOG to release a long awaited title the people have been clambering for to pacify the community and we will forget all about these transgressions and go back to praising GOG until something like this happens in the foreseeable near future to inconveniences the community again. All the while before that happens we will silence and ignore every naysayer as always. Wash, rinse, and repeat :P
When the faith is unsettled it'll take quite some time to gain it back (at least for me). Making fair prices a #1 goal is a bad mistake. It's always good to try to get fair prices as much as possible, but getting as much as possible DRM free games always should be the one and only #1 goal and it shouldn't be harmed by any 2nd class goals.

@GOG: Why do we have Euro prices in Switzerland now? We have as much Euros here as we have Dollars as our local currency ;) and the Dollar price tags were much more memorable. Is there any option to switch back the price display to Dollars?

I'm surprised so many people are surprised over this. To me and few other people it was obvious from the moment GOG yielded into regional pricing few months ago. GOG showed publishers that they're willing to give them a leeway and publishers will take advantage of that. I'm more surprised GOG actually held their ground here and decided to remove those games instead of changing their price, which is nice. I'm also surprised that this didn't happen to more games but I guess the time is still young. I wonder who will yield first, GOG or publishers? Well, it's in our, customers, hands, really. If we buy those games elsewhere, publishers won't notice missing profits from GOG and will only agree to put them here on their terms. I wonder what will happen...

Btw. new site design sucks.

You can switch back but sadly the page does not remember this setting, everytime you revisit the website it is at euros again.

If you mean display then yes, near the bottom there's an option to switch between Euro and Dollars.
