We'll be removing a number of games from the GOG.com catalog - here's your last call to get them with a special discount!

Today, we're here to honor the promise we gave you to announce ahead of time whenever we're taking a game down from sales. We wanted to give you one last chance to get the titles we're delisting with a considerable discount, and the partners involved agreed. There are 35 games on that list and you can get them all for up to 80% off until Tuesday, September 2, at 3:59AM GMT. Any title you buy will remain in your collection even after it's removed from our catalog, so you can always download and re-download the installers and bonus content. Check out the promo page to see which games this concerns.

We're still ironing out a few details. For now, the promo pages, like the one for the Last Chance Special, list all the game prices only in US dollars. But don't freak out: if you chose to use your local currency you will see the prices in local currency in checkout, and you can still finalize the transaction in local currency. We hope to have this issue fixed within the next weeks.

gandalf.nho: Considering the backlash when regional pricing was first announced, guess a lot of people here prefer no games...
Exactly why I was pissed at people for said backlash. It seems getting crap cheap is more important than DRM free at all.

ReynardFox: Oh what the hell is this?!

GOG, may I ask, what's better, a few games regionaly priced.. or no games at all?

There goes my hopes for Darksiders... I am seriously depressed.

Yep, hope everyone is happy. :\
How depressing.
How sad.
But, I promise I won't go mad.
...
...
Just angry.

htown1980: I do like those genres separately, but I don't know what they would be like combined.. Is it like a real timey version of HOMM?
It's more like traditional RTS. Beside base constructing and recruting units you have few main heroes, who gain experience and can get new skills, equipment etc. What's interesting, as long as one of the heroes lives, he/she can resurrect the others. Here's short gameplay from Spellforce 2 Shadow Wars.

Why are Gothic 2 & 3 and Penumbra & Amnesia going away?
Well, I just tried to buy some, and the site crashes when I try to check out. Uh huh.

And why is Gothic 1 staying?

What the hell, why now?

They've been on GOG for such a long time, on loads of promos and a lot of games released here (this year as well) - the 'partnership' with GOG seemed to be going so well, and now they remove all of their games?

Dafuq.
If it was at least due 10-15 september... oh well.

Overall... sad news.
I almost feel like buying these games now would be rewarding Nordic for pulling out by giving them some last minute buys.

Still, I guess I'll look over the list and see if theres anything I might play in the future and consider it.

Erich_Zann: That's what I was thinking as well. Like Japs, German publishers usually love to ask their own countrymen to pay more for the same product.
avatar
Piranjade: Japs?!? O_O
And since when is Nordic Games a German publisher?
From what I know & heard, games are pretty expensive in Japan, yes.
Nordic is Austrian, correct ? Sind ja Bairisch, so close enough.

Exoanthrope: And why is Gothic 1 staying?
Gothic 1 is published by a different company, not Nordic.

Exoanthrope: And why is Gothic 1 staying?
Because Gothic 1 doesn't belong to Nordic Games. They got the rights to Gothic 2-4 by acquiring the JoWood portfolio...JoWood however never owned the rights to Gothic 1.

It's not published by Nordic.
