We'll be removing a number of games from the GOG.com catalog - here's your last call to get them with a special discount!

Today, we're here to honor the promise we gave you to announce ahead of time whenever we're taking a game down from sales. We wanted to give you one last chance to get the titles we're delisting with a considerable discount, and the partners involved agreed. There are 35 games on that list and you can get them all for up to 80% off until Tuesday, September 2, at 3:59AM GMT. Any title you buy will remain in your collection even after it's removed from our catalog, so you can always download and re-download the installers and bonus content. Check out the promo page to see which games this concerns.

We're still ironing out a few details. For now, the promo pages, like the one for the Last Chance Special, list all the game prices only in US dollars. But don't freak out: if you chose to use your local currency you will see the prices in local currency in checkout, and you can still finalize the transaction in local currency. We hope to have this issue fixed within the next weeks.
Argh, so many going away! Aquanox, Gothic, the Penumbra/Amnesia games. And you had only recently gotten the Dark Fall games back. This is very disappointing. I guess I'll have to stock up on gift keys now, assuming they will be good after the titles are pulled.

... This is bad. Actually, horrible.

But we wanted no regional pricing and GOG stuck by us.

I just wish the "fair price package" could have been worked around for these games, too (if only in a dollar here or there that could be added to a "GOG Wallet).

EDIT: It appears I misunderstood things quite severely. Oh well.

Well we are still able to change the currency so I assume that Nordic wanted to charge more in general OR have regional pricing on their games. Either way: IT SUCKS. I might pick up some games though...just sad to see them gone.

IanM: unreasonable regional pricing demands from the publisher?
That's what I was thinking as well. Like Japs, German publishers usually love to ask their own countrymen to pay more for the same product.

RWarehall: Not Jack Keene 2. Oh my God! Does that mean no more Insomnia sales?
Well, it certainly means no more insomnia. :P

Sad news indeed... I hate to see them leave (but I love the way they go). Thanks a lot for the warning sale GOG!

Didn't GOG accepted to not do Regional Pricing after the backlash from before?
35 games in one hit eh? damn GOG is my place of choice but game companies hate DRM-Free options and I can see this hurting GOG in the long run when it comes to newer games. I hope this is the last time we see something this big leave the site... :(

If this was over region pricing then this move they pulled was very stupid VERY...

Lots to absorb today. Too much work stacked up, but this is all just so damned intriguing.

GOG is currently showing the catalog at 823 games. I thought I noticed like 806 or something yesterday. Any idea what that's all about?
Why Nordic games why?

no they said they would do fair regional pricing, so every region will pay essentially the same amount, just in their own currency
My only question is: "Why?" :(
I wonder whether ThomNG will comment in this thread.

Possibly that reflects new movie content.

Looks like DLC gets a separate entry.
