We'll be removing a number of games from the GOG.com catalog - here's your last call to get them with a special discount!

Today, we're here to honor the promise we gave you to announce ahead of time whenever we're taking a game down from sales. We wanted to give you one last chance to get the titles we're delisting with a considerable discount, and the partners involved agreed. There are 35 games on that list and you can get them all for up to 80% off until Tuesday, September 2, at 3:59AM GMT. Any title you buy will remain in your collection even after it's removed from our catalog, so you can always download and re-download the installers and bonus content. Check out the promo page to see which games this concerns.

We're still ironing out a few details. For now, the promo pages, like the one for the Last Chance Special, list all the game prices only in US dollars. But don't freak out: if you chose to use your local currency you will see the prices in local currency in checkout, and you can still finalize the transaction in local currency. We hope to have this issue fixed within the next weeks.
Well in the aftermath of the promo I just missed one game I felt interested in, Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods. Is there any other place where I could get it DRM free, or I have to go the ilegal way, which I don't want to, to get it without the pest of DRM?

Completely DRM-free and you don't need a client to download or install the game. If you don't want to pay $9.99, you can put it on your wishlist and they will inform you whenever the game is on sale.
Looks like I got all my games back. I have 62 counting the free ones. For those of you who bought the scary stuff like Amesia well good luck, it is too scary for me. Instead of Amesia I got the Guild series. Sad to see Painkiller gone and Spellforce. Surprised to see Gothic gone, got them on the summer sale. It's fun get a good game for a cheap price.

The issue isn't with DRM free copies of the games; the problem is GOG's wonky pricing policies that are inconsistent with other retailers and have awkward currency conversion practices. The removed titles should be available everywhere DRM free, but GOG.

Desperados has been at a standard price of $5 in many outlets, including Steam, for a while. GOG has been the more expensive place to buy it for some time - this is an example of GOG's set pricing tiers that in some ways disadvantage customers and in others the publisher causing removal of these games.

Yes I checked a lot of games that are on gog are cheaper on Shiny Loot which is strange and they also don't seem to do much regional pricing there. But probably the prices are so low now cause they have a summer sale going on at the moment.

undeadcow:
did nordic say removal because of reginal pricing or because of GOG's strange set pricing tiers?

Currency conversion was supposedly the problem.

No, it has nothing to do with the summer sale. There are several games that have always been cheaper on ShinyLoot. There are also several games that you can't buy on GOG, even if the developers are already here (or were here in case of Nordic).

this all implies, that nordic removed the games because of other resons, but not because of lack of regional pricing!

denonoon3019: IN UK you can get The Sims 4 for 38 pounds, here in Australia, we pay $90 ($100 for premium) bucks from your local EB/JB-HIFI.

If you convert 38 pounds, that's roughly ~$70 here.

Remove the whole exchange money BS, and it's $52 bucks difference between UK and Australia of the same version of the game, excluding currency.
Dude.
Dude.
The Sims 4 costs 1199 roubles in Russia. "Remove the whole exchange money bullshit, and it's $1161 bucks difference between Russia and the UK, excluding currency."
Don't drop out of primary school, you still have much to learn.

Yeah in Nordics case the problem was gogs new currecy conversion process - it had nothing to do with regional pricing at all.
