Aridoom: Thanks for the giveaway. I don't want to watch the videos, though.
No problem, They are not easy to watch.

tajemniczybeton: If I eat meat or even eggs then I am giving consent for animals to be treated badly.
avatar
langurmonkey: If you eat meat and eggs, you are not giving consent for what is happening in the Youtube videos you can find through the first post of this thread. If you give money to corporations that do business with these laboratories of torture, then yeah, you are supporting animal torture.
Almost all pharmaceutical companies have laboraties like these. It is nigh impossible to not support them.

btw. Things in seccond video seems to be completely unnecessary and even if one don't care about animals at all they might distrupt results of tests.

No, not true. And there is always a way to not support evil.

So what should people with for example diabetes do?

langurmonkey: Take insulin because animals already suffered for it. Not taking it, wont undo what has been done.
Oh but, companies that produce insulin are ones that own these laboratories. Even if medicine you need is morally "clean", money still supports corporation that owns these places. And they won't change anything because it is cheaper and easier to bribe or as they like to call it "lobby" few politicians than to do something.

To not go all grimdark these places(along with many farms) might disappear in 2 decades with rise of 3D printing organs and in vitro meat.

langurmonkey: what are you doing here in the first place?
I spend my time talking about ethical problems through global communication system to person on another continent.

Fuck it. I created this thread, not to argue with people. I created this thread to help me give one lucky like minded person, 5 GOGs. If you don't see that the torture of animals is wrong and should not be supported no matter what. There is nothing for me to say to you.

AFnord: Just to make my stance on the matter clear:
I'm not entirely against animal testing, though it has to be for something really important (like medicine), and even then every step possible needs to be taken to ensure that the animal suffers as little as possible, and it should not be done unless there are no other reasonable options. If this disqualifies me, then I'm alright with that.
Couldn't have said it better.

Not entering, 'cause I can easily afford games right now, but +1.
I am a animal lover so am against it naturally.

Blackwell Bundle
Geneforge 1-5

I agree with langurmonkey, monkey or any other animal shouldn't be victim of any kind of torture: experimental, accidental or on purpose.

+1 for your initiative.

Not sure if this is still open, but anyway...

1. Gemini Rue
2. Alan Wake's American Nightmare
3. Torchlight
4. Geneforge 1-5
5. The Ball

Only interested in 2, 3, and 5 actually. So I was wondering in the rare case that I win, can I pass 1 and 4 to other fellow GOGer(s)?

Thanks for the giveaway.
Giveaway ends now. The winner will be picked with the help of random.org and will get his or her prize around midnight, some hours from now.

I hate this kind of videos, so I didn't watch...
Anyway, I'm against using animals for "cosmetic" purposes.
Serious medicinal tests is okay for me....

So, if my entry is (still) valid, I would like:

Gemini Rue
Blackwell Bundle
Symphony
Mutant Mudds
Unmechanical

Thanks anyway! :P

Edit: ooops, forget it! (too late) =D
