You are disqualified only if aren't against the torture and killing of animals. Not because of your thread because your thread was harmless. If deep down inside, you see the torturing and killing of animals as bad, wrong, evil etc then you are can join in.

I don't kill animals or torture any, but it seems like a bit of a double standard when I'm not vegan to still qualify me.
