Neverwinter Nights 1 can be many things. Amongst others it can do Diablo-style gaming better than Diablo itself.

Check out the Higher ground servers....

By the way...there is no lack of ARPG's...more or less every game today is called an RPG..even though they are really shooters...ALL Action NO roleplay if you ask me....

Filthgrinder: Which is what brought me to making this topic...the LACK of ARPGs and maybe people could list up some that gog could get.

Filthgrinder: Gothic is NOT an ARPG. The loot is fixed and not random drops.
You know, sometimes it's prudent to step out of line and give an alternative. When you made the example of two worlds, I immediately jumped on the gothic bandwagon. It's not strictly action, but it is a hack 'n slash, at least part of it.
What's with all of the rep downgrading? Have we started censoring people whose opinions and/or attitudes we don't like? That's really bogus....

Um, yeah, that's the whole point of the -rep button, to indicate things we don't like. It's completely democratic, if you don't agree with the down repping, you can +rep him if you like.
Rep button? All I see is a "rate this post".

That's the one.

Filthgrinder: What rep? Rep button?
The bar above all posts other than your own has a "rate this post" button. Positive and negative ratings can increase and decrease your rep, but it takes a majority of "votes" in either direction to really do anything.

EDIT - Damn! I really need to work on my typing speed.

Yeah, I can see how you jumped to Gothic due to combat aspect of it. However Gothic has pre-written loot drops, and is more a pure RPG ala The Elder Scrolls (which is has always been compared to).

Damuna: Those are the rep buttons. When you ask for help, it's very impolite to describe someone as "spamming" when they give you some, regardless of whether or not you find their help useful. That's why your "rep" has taken a plunge.
This again?

Look, in every other forums I take part in people are very observant and keen on keeping the topics on topic. If someone is asking for help in buying a car, and someone posts a massive list over motorcycles, that is considered spam and is looked down upon, for several reasons. Mostly because the post had nothing to do with what the OP asked.

I was far from impolite towards him at all. I even used "please", and reexplained my main post was about ARPGs, something I have now had to do several times, which shouldn't of been necessary, you would think people in a gaming forum would know what an ARPG is compared to a RPG!

But yet I am the one getting attacked because I want to keep the topic on topic, but for this I am considered impolite? What a twisted point of view....

Rude? How was my post rude?

"Tone"? You are aware that tone of voice cannot be portrayed via written form? But is instead interpreted by the reader? I think you are misreading what I am writing as being hostile or something.

Not specific? I mention "ARPG", I even use Diablo as an example.

Wow man...just wow. I think you are just trolling me now.

No offense but I don't see why that huge list was highly rated. The OP asked for ARPGs and the list just parsed anything in GoG's index listed as an RPG including stuff that isn't even close to being an ARPG. This community is bizarre.

Filthgrinder: I have to say I am disappointed over the lack of ARPGs. I see Two Worlds, and that's it.

I know Diablo is out of the question, but what about Titan Quest or Dungeon Siege?

I mean, there HAS to be more good old ARPGs out there?

For them not knowing what an ARPG is (Action Role Playing Game), I am thinking of the old hack'n'slash loot heavy games.
Yeah, this site has Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinty, Arx Fatalis, Gothic and sequels, Enclave, and probably some I'm forgetting. Do you only like isometric ARPGs? Titan Quest and Immortal Throne are the pinnacles of isometric, if you ask me. Torchlight (boxed only) and Din's Curse are both good and have no DRM (not GOGs though).
I don't know what their DRM stance is, and is in pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-Alpha:

but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on. Pretty much the same people who made Titan Quest.
