TheCheese33: The Guardian had a 5-star review of LA Noire posted last night. It suddenly disappeared this morning. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
There may be an embargo on the reviews. This happens sometimes, like movie reviewers may get an early viewing but can't put up their review until the movie is released to the public. This might be the case with the game here.
You folks saw the first 15 mins of the game on youtube? Think it may have been taken down now though. You may be able to find a download of it somewhere though.

In any case, looks good. I doubt it's for the action inclined or people who want the next GTA like game though.

If I hadn't watched it a few weeks back, I'd be slipping L.A. Confidential on during next week while I wait for the game to be delivered. Probably on Thursday.

It's still rather amusing, as I caught a glimpse of the review and it was glowing with praise. It seems like reviews like that should stay up, to keep good publicity.

The most fascinating part of the review said that while it isn't as open-ended as typical Rockstar games, the game is "very meaty". They compared it to two seasons of a crime show, in terms of wealth of content.

TheCheese33: snip
That is fantastic to hear. Tuesday can't get here fast enough.
I'm very much looking forward to this. I especially like the fact that I get the idea that it isn't a typical RockStar sandbox game. While I enjoy those I always end up getting burned out on them and don't typically end up completing them. That and I am a sucker for any kind of noir story. :3 I updated my shipping on Amazon cause I decided I'd rather pay more and get it sooner. My PS3 is actually really happy that I've been paying attention to it lately. :P
Apparently there's a plot spoiler in the review, so if it does come back up soon, I'd advise skipping that particular review from The Guardian.
Since this game is a mystery, I plan on avoiding all reviews and news on it. I've only been watching the behind the scenes stuff, like how they're been using facial recognition and stuff.

Rockstar is becoming the new Bioware.
I'm actually thinking about granting this one of the few pre-orders I do per year. It really does look very nice.
Ugh... it really does look good enough that I'm considering buying it EVEN THOUGH I'd have to get it for a console instead of my beloved PC. Fuck you, R*, but keep up the good work too.
Pre-ordered it along with The Witcher 2
Rockstart totally deserves my money after RDR, it was great, I loved that game (And I hated GTAIV)

LA Noire is shaping up to be another great game, can't wait. I hope to have The Witcher 2 finished by then

Too bad I ended up with no money to buy Planescape: Torment :(

I seriously doubt it will suffer for being on a console, it doesn't seem to be that type of game.

I know, it's just that I got that big ole' 2560x1440 that I'd like to play it on... and mods...

The monitor can get on board with for sure:)

I love mods, but most are crap, and I don't even have time to play the main title more often than not, so I find I don't spend much time on mods.

I should have said tweaks, too. GTA IV had some great car tweaks and graphics tweaks that could really improve things. The car tweaks are something that I valued a lot, the game just felt a lot better to me with them.
The games premise interests me, but alas, it's not for PC, so I won't be buying.
