"What's a turn-based fan to do, aside from surfing GOG.com?"
Advertising yeah
One line from a magazine warranted a thread. Ooookaaay...
Actually almost every issue of PC Gamer for the past year has had some reference to GOG. And double the amount for Steam.

The only line in the article blown up the size of any picture on the page. (Huge)
You mean it's a goddamn subheading.
Is turn-based really an endangered mechanic?

What's turn-based?

drmlessgames: What's turn-based?

A gameplay mechanic where you and your enemies taking turns to attack and/or move, like playing chess.

I smell clean!
Square Enix is to blame for killing turn based. FF13... oh my
I agree with his sentiment... we still have TBS games, but no TBRPGs that I know of. Dragon Age style pause and play is close, but not quite.
Sickening that RPGs tend to be action type these days. I'm ok with the story driven ones, Jade Empire, Mass Effect. But I can't really stick on playing those grinding types like Diablo.
I replay Baldur's Gate 2 time and again to ease RPG need.

Ok. Now I smell the sarcasm. ;P
On topic. I saw this in PC Gamer. They pulled that one quote about gog from the article and blew it up big. I thought that was a nice little plug for gog.
