In the spirit of L4D2 I'd start a boycott of Terry's products to show craft that the same treatment of cadburys won't be tolerated... but I rarely see any terry's products anymore. So I don't think it'd really work.
Is Fry's still british?
The sad thing is that Cadbury's was a very nice, progressive company that did a lot for it's workers.

Well there's chocolate cheese slices. Had a Chesdale packaged one before, ended up on the avoid list in an instance.

Lucibel: Personally I hate Cadbury's chocolate. Sickly, excessively sweet stuff! I do buy Cadbury's cocoa though and occasionally indulge in their special bars they have from time to time (creme egg bar, turkish delight bar etc).
Navagon: So Cadbury's chocolate is sickly sweet, but creme egg bars aren't? Ooookay. Wasn't saying anything of the kind. All their chocolate is too sweet for me but tempatation is overwhelming if I come across oddities like a creme egg or turkish delight bar.

Not too long. They got rid of Kraft in like 2003 or 2004, right around the same time PM changed its name to "Altria" in an attempt to re-make their image.

I find it a mix of amusement and soul-crushing agony how much of the UK is sold off to foreign companies.
How we justify being the 6th largest economy in the world I don't know, because it's all on credit.
I often believe we're on the brink of total collapse, we used to be an empire, and that helped with our major buildings, bridges and railways. The remains of industry, oil and gas kept us going for motorways and the channel tunnel, the financial "wizards" in the City kept London fat and house prices high... what do we really have left?
Gah, now I'm depressed...

How do you think we feel here in the US? None of our companies are actually ours and our only major manufacturing industry left, the auto industry, is collapsing due to foreign competition... "foreign competition"... kind of funny to say that when the American auto industry is mostly owned by "foreigners". At least you guys had many centuries of empire and success, we managed to build up and then destroy the largest manufacturing economy in the world in only a bit more than 200 years.

It's interesting to compare the UK to Japan, and bear in mind that japan has essentially been in recession for 10+ years, and think about all the world famous Japanese companies (Sony, Nintendo, Hitachi, Panasonic, Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, etc..) and the world famous UK ones (er.... well a few people know Barclays... can't think of any others off the top of my head.. a lot of people still think Rover is going...)
Oh yeah, Tesco is a little known outside the UK... and Burberry.

Rover IS still going... it's been bought out by the Chinese along with MG under the name Roewe (which sounds like a neutered dog).
