Well, I see now that there was actually a progress report back in April. The last time I checked the site was shortly before that, I think. And prior to that, the last progress report was in October 2007.
That said... Hell, I don't know what to say. I'm still hoping, but not really believing. I'll be thrilled if it does happen, but I'm not expecting much.

That October 2007 report was the last time that a "WIP" update was released on the main website, but there were other progress reports between then and the April beta release. After fall 2007/winter 2008, the mod went into its heavy bugfixing state, since all the cut content had already been restored. There really wasn't much to talk about, so the only major progress updates to speak of were in the team's Mantis bugtracker. Unfortunately, last fall, that bugtracker experienced a serious glitch and the team is no longer using or updating it. It was also around that time that the remaining team members, other than Dashus, left to pursue other endeavors. We did have a serious dead period during the early part of this year where no one had really talked to Dashus, due to some RL issues he was dealing with, and it appeared that the mod was in very serious trouble. However, when Dashus did re-appear, we found out that he had been spending some quality time restructuring one of the biggest parts of the mod, the HK factory on Telos, in order to address the most major bugs that were preventing release. It was that restructuring that was part of the 1.0b11 release and is what the beta testers are currently focusing their efforts on. At the moment, we are awaiting a 1.0b12 release, which should (note I said "should") be the last closed beta release before a first public release.
Honestly, I always tell people, don't wait for the mod, play the game as is... try out other mods... try out other games... go outside and play... do something, but don't wait with baited breath for this mod. It will be done in its own time and when it is, if you are still interested in KotOR and the mod, you can play it in all its glory. A mod for a game is not worth expending all the effort people have spent, both in supporting and slamming it

Uh, no, not true at all. That log was faked, though it has been posted several places and advertised as true. There was an actual conversation like that that did take place, but it was not the source of the leak and the person that was attempting to get the mod via that method was basically told to fuck off in the end.

It's been stated that it's true, and in written form not least. Myself I stated it twice, again in written form and on the internet. That's quadruple truth factor and everyone with some basic schooling knows that. Only a village idiot would question this.

Sorry for not answering sooner, I just noticed this now. There are a number of reasons to not add more team members, not the least of which is trust. After adding more beta testers, the mod was leaked by one of those new testers in a very incomplete and broken form. The last thing they want to happen now is another event like that. Additionally, the current major parts of the mod that still need working on are not really something that you can pass off in parts to other people. Dashus is focusing mostly on the HK factory module, which is really a one man job at the moment. Lastly, there is also the problem of skill. There are maybe a dozen or so people with the experience and skill with modding KotOR that would be required to debug the things that T-G has done. I have yet to see any of them offer to volunteer their time to the mod. Just saying you are available to help doesn't mean you are actually able to help.
IMO, if someone is willing and able to help and has the skills required to help, Dash probably should get in touch with them, but I don't think they will really be able to do much to move the mod forward, as long as it is still dependent on Dash's availability as the "build master".

There is no reason to believe it's false. As per your own words, it's been posted on the web before and now it appeared on the prestigious GOG forum. All of this gives a lot of credit to this log. It even has timestamps, and if you do not know anything about internet chats, I'll tell you right now that it's something very hard to fake.
Plus it's a fun read, and stuff that is true is always fun.

Please tell me you are just trying to be funny here and are not actually serious about this. If you are being serious, then you are possibly the most gullible person I have ever met on the internet... and that is saying a lot. If you are trying to be funny, well, I suppose if you were going for the self-deprecating side of funny, then you have succeeded admirably.
