I liked it. Shame about the ending, though...it felt a little anti-climatic. I read it was rushed out the door, unfinished.

lukaszthegreat: I am not fan of star wars. The addition of grittiness, despair and lack of black and white so so prevalent in SW really made the game shine for me in comparison to first part which i do like!
Well that would be pretty great if the game didn't count on it, the game rarely gave me a neutral option I would like, or just didn't give any neutral option at all. I mean, first KOTOR wasn't meant to be played with neutral character at all and yet I enjoyed it far more that way than KOTOR 2.
I liked K2 *shrugs.

Jarmo: Overall 2 is the higher ambition project, if fails in many ways but you gotta appreciate and love the effort.
Agreed. KOTOR1 is clearly the better executed, but as you say, 2 was simply more more ambitious.

Nergal01: And, I know this must sound strange, but I enjoyed the game for being essentially anti-Star-Wars in its atmosphere, and for its villains.
You're not alone.

I remember reading that Avellone (the lead writer) decided to focus on the force and the idea of predestination because it was something he had always disliked about the SW universe. That really gelled what makes KOTOR2 so excellent IMO: It's a hate letter to George Lucas, but one that loves and understands the SW universe all the same.

The game made game mechanics part of the story. While the message of the story may be interpreted as saying that one should stay neutral, it would probably be more accurate to say that with the Force, one needs to commit, but 'ware zeal.

And I still insist Kreia wasn't evil. She was just... misunderstood.

she wanted death of the force which really is the root of most galaxy's problems.
so not a very evil goal but questionable methods.
