Kloreep: Pet theory, BTW: I think people's opinions of KOTOR2 and Kreia are generally linked. I find people tend to either agree or disagree with me on liking both Kreia's character and the game as a whole.
Yea I hated Kreia and her constant interruptions.

crdy123: Why does everyone hate on kotor 2? In MY opinion Obsidian did just as good a job as bioware and they are both in my top ten favorite games of all time.

I would be happy to read opinions on the games
You didn't finish the game, did you?

It was a buggy mess, filled with areas and quests which had been inexpertly removed from the game with a hacksaw, leaving jagged edges and bleeding wounds all over the game, metaphorically speaking.

It's a pity, because it had a lot of potential. If LucasArts hadn't insisted on forcing it out the door in time for Christmas, it could have been a great game.
I didn't actually like Kotor2. not because of the bugs though.

It was just a feeling. The game annoyed me. While I loved Kotor1 for being starwarsy in the strongest manner (with all the pros and cons of it), Kotor2 annoyed me.

NPCs were annoying, companions were annoying, the story annoyed me, too.
Oh, and one more thing that annoyed me. It's called Nar Shadaa. I dislike Nar Shadaa levels in every single Star Wars game they appeared in.
It plays like the early, never-to-be-finished beta of a fan-made mod.

And I still love the game for its story and voice acting.
KOTOR was my re-introduction to CRPGS. It's still a good game. However, looking back, it does not hold up as well as other games. Must be my Bioware fatigue kicking in.

KOTOR 2... it's tragic, really. What is there is already way superior to the first game IMO in ambition and complexity. And, I know this must sound strange, but I enjoyed the game for being essentially anti-Star-Wars in its atmosphere, and for its villains.

Nope, i usually play both games at least once a year on my old Xbox. Absolutely love both. Wish they'd release the second on Steam, dont know why they never did.

It had a terrible ending and there were a lot of quests that went nowhere.

****SPOILER****

I pretend the exile was killed after talking with the reunited council http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IUHYmgb2xE (which was the climax in my opinion.) and just stop playing as everything after that is rubbish.

****END SPOILER****

It's still my favourite game despite its flaws. It definitely could have been better and i remember being disappointed after first playing it.
I really got into KOTOR2, but a gamebreaking bug near the end prevented me from getting forward.

It was a real shame for what happened to this game. It had a lot of promise, but it just shows in so many ways it was left unfinished.

BTW, there's a fan patch that should fix a lot of problems. Sadly I don't remember where you can download it or what it was called.

I'm hoping they'd make a new KOTOR some day. One that doesn't require monthly payments or have internet monkeys in it.

TSL Restored Content Mod
Fixes and restores lots of broken stuff.

There was another unfinished project before this, but it never got anywhere.

I enjoyed the game although was a bit miffed as the ending was so rushed but i did have fun and alwyas hoped for a third game to tie up the endings of KOTR 1 & 2. (i dont include the mmo as that)

The restored contents mod really helps flesh out some of the game and is a must have download to anyone who has the game.

I have a strong feel the tie up would have pretty much been the Mass Effect storyline.
They keep rotating the themes and telling the same story but keep switching the setting.

Probably a good idea to link to the newest version of the mod instead

I've only played KotOR 2 with TSLCRM. I thought the game was excellent and some of the best Star Wars around*. The game is clearly unfinished but what's there is enough to get the job done.

I never felt betrayed by the boss and quite enjoyed that character.

Other than perhaps being too easy, I never felt bored.

* IMHO, a tendency towards black & white is the settings greatest weakness.
i loved the game. with time i appreciated the game more over its predecessor. Even as unfinished as it was as buggy it was (only one system crash which was a bitch to fix but only one) everything else about it I loved. characters, fights, dialogs etc.

One of the reason I care more about it than first part was how it called bullshit on rpg mechanics (like quests, xp, fights) and how un-starwars it was.

I am not fan of star wars. The addition of grittiness, despair and lack of black and white so so prevalent in SW really made the game shine for me in comparison to first part which i do like!
