No doubt, why release an MGS bundle without including the first one? Even a direct port would have been sufficient.

Actually more accurate to say MGS2 required 3DFX. That killed it. Lot's of PC gamers wanted to play it but couldn't because NVidia bought them out and the support was poor.

Confession; I've never played Silent Hill 2. Hopefully this will be remedied this holiday season.

Having been burnt by EA marketing one too many times I don't believe in a games existence nor features until its finished and in the reviewers hands ;) But yes I've seen that trailer before - just -- don't want to get hopes up too soon ;)

Last Game Informer I read, like a month or so ago, it said The Last Guardian has been pushed back with a release date to be determined. Has this changed?

The wiki on the last page would support this - pushed back to a 2012 release date at the present. I generally don't mind that - so long as its coming (and isn't Duke ;)) release dates being put back generally means that what we get is more polished and refined (it only backlashes when it mixes with a new console release and you end up with a hackjob as the company tries to fast adapt the old game and code into the new console).

I don't think I've played any of these titles.

Silent Hill I hear is good though. I might get that collection if I ever get a PS3.

Will they port over the problems of the PC versions? I have MGS2 on PC. Found it rather entertaining that when I got it, my computer hadn't got the power to pull it at full quality.
When I upgraded I could pull it at full quality, but it had severe glitches on max, had to scale it down a bit.
Since then, upgrading again made the glitches spread to the settings I had before and I had to lower the quality again. Seems with better hardware comes lower ability to play MGS2...just imagine what the PS3 version will end up looking like.

Also while I'm loath to buying newer EA and Ubisoft titles, I've foresworn buying any Konami titles on PC ever again. They are usually a buggy mess on the PC, and for the 2 times they wouldn't even run, their support was basically going "Thank you for buying our game. We hope you fix it yourself because we have no ideas."

Not as bad as Sega's "No, we never released this game on the PC. Why do you take it listed as PC on our homepage that we did? It's likely just a glitch, now go away"

I don't mean a straight port, but what you see on PC is essentially what you will see on consoles. God of War 1 and 2 HD remakes were awesome, don't get me wrong, but the only real difference was higher res textures and HD resolutions. I'd assume the same goes for Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider, etc.

I have the PC versions of MGS2 and the Silent Hill games. MGS2 is a piece of shit, because the controls (and mapping them) are terrible. Silent Hill series is better but suffer from weird graphic problems. Silent Hill 4 was probably the best looking on PC, followed by 2. 3 was horrible, every system I installed it on I had the same problems.

That being said, the console versions IMO are superior just for reliability and the PS2/PS3 controllers are still the most comfortable controllers. I pretty much just buy adventure games and FPS games for PC nowadays, all 3rd person games I get for console just for easier controls.

I'd like to see some Konami HD PC Port on GoG.com because I would like to play them without a CD and also a big fan of Konami games.
