I just noticed, that AGDinteractive has officially released KQ3 Redux

Erm, why exactly?

Is it better than Infamous Adventure's remake?
I do like having multiple remakes from the same developer and it does like slightly better graphically.

Apparently AGDI's remake is not 1:1 remake that IA's was. But Can't tell anything else yet, as I am still at work and haven't tried the game.

Haven't played any of these remakes but I really should... haven't played any KQ before the 5th one, for that matter, and really should.

Oh sweet, I enjoyed 1 and 2 as I was a little too young to play them when they first came out. Is Quest for Glory II out yet?

And it's awesome, too. Really makes the game shine while treating it with utmost respect. With the fan treatment, QfG2 easily ties with QfG4 for the title of the greatest game in the series.

No reason at all for it to be on GOG.

I'll play Gemini Rue first but I am looking forward to this! I kind of want to learn how to use that engine, I hear it's not that hard.

I played KQ3R to the pirate ship yesterday and it is a pretty impressive remake. Not as full scale like KQ2 was, which went a bit too far IMO, but a reasonably polished and more well rounded.

There's a couple of new puzzles made in the first half and the pirate ship part seems to be a bit different as well from the original, so it's not 1:1 remake like the IA's remake was. The background graphics are amazing.

My only real problem is, that AGDI still doesn't have a good character portrait artist. Most of the character closeups look pretty horrible IMO. But that is just a small peeve, otherwise the game is very good.

AGS was nice when I played with it ~4 years ago. A very basic game with a Sierra style verb interface can be made with very little scripting. If you start playing with the scripting properly there's a lot that can be changed though, people have even made things like platformers with the engine.

I've used AGS a bit myself. It's pretty simple program and you can do simple games with it relatively quickly.

I actually did a prototype adventure with it and I have had the meaning to redo the graphic and slam it officially together.
