nadenitza: Bloodninja is a legend, lol!
Lol that crazy troll again XD
I read a bit of that supposedly "funny" stuff and I can't believe that people cheer him for ruining other people's days.

Laughing about other people's misery is not something I'm fond of.

A bit true, I usually prefer less cruel pranksters.
This was an old guilty fun to read again, though.

The best jokes are indeed those in which the "victim" smiles too afterwards.
He gets paid to do this?
Never understood this type of behavior on the internet. *Maybe* once or so but when someone makes a habit out of it, its plainly rude and unnecessary.

Ruining other people's day and people's misery sounds like an overstatement to me.
They are just harmless pranks: people laugh at him thinking he's unbelievably stupid and he laughs at them back for believing he could be that stupid. No days are ruined and nobody's hurt.

Look, imagine you're a dad or mother with two kids who you want to make happy by giving them a pet. You have no money, so you're asking on the Internet if some kind soul, perhaps, has one to spare. Then comes along a guy who thinks it's funny to first get your hopes up by faking to be such a kind soul, then making some bizarre psycho remarks that include torturing and killing his own parrot, blaming and attacking you personally, and then posting the entire thing on the Internet for others to laugh about. While others cheer the troll on the Internet for whichever sad reason, you still have no pet for your kids.

And that guy does these things regularly.

Feel free to say and do whatever you like, but I really can't imagine how cold-hearted and blunted I would have to be to laugh about that.

Edit: Apparently someone threw links into a thread about "Ken", which link to material not actually related to "Ken", without mentioning that little detail. I should clarify that my post refers to something that turns out to be written by "John Lassiter", a guy who describes his goals as "mess with (people), confuse them, and/or piss them off." I don't know if that's another pseudonym of "Ken" or if someone just took a thread about one "troll" as an opportunity to present his own "favorite trolls" and delivered a particularly disgusting example.

After seeing this thread I peaked at the links and read a lot of what Ken M has posted over the net. He doesn't really outright insult anyone, but he get's many an insult back. It's all a big joke and the irony of it all is the one being pranked doesn't know that Ken M is just fooling around and is more clever than meets the eye.

That said, I'm not fond of trolling and he's a bit excessive, even if he's hilarious. But at least he's not insulting people who respond to his posts.

It might be funny to see someone work people up from the out side, but I'm not sure it's really ever a good thing. If someone is ever comfortable deliberately working people up, even if they aren't being serious, it feels like it means something isn't right with that person. Like maybe their empathy is a little broken to allow them such freedom to poke at strangers.

I get that pranking your friends is good fun, and crank calls are funny when you are a kid, but it's less funny when they aren't your friends and your aren't under the age of 11. I'm not sure what it is, but it's always made me hyper uncomfortable to watch someone unknowingly subject someone else to an awkward situation when they know nothing about that person's temperament, comfort levels, or sensitivities.

People get paid to do all kinds of stuff on the Internet, like getting paid to write bad reviews for a competitors app. Astroturfing tends to be fairly obvious, but I wouldn't be shocked if there were people on the forums here paid just to protect and tarnish certain ideas or entities.

There have been a couple of users that were so ready to undermine various GOG philosophies, while defending the virtue of competitors, that I wondered just a little if were for real.
Haha that was hilarious! I laughed out loud quite hard at those comments.
I have been reading these for over an hour and they are glorious. Thank you for introducing me to Ken!

lol *facepalm*. "Oh ideal world! Why do you fail me?!" Taking things less literally and avoiding maximizing importance helps. "This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel." - Horace Walpole -

There's a very apt saying in Latin : Caveat Emptor.

Ken M. trolled my abilities as a troll with the sheer bombasticity of his posts.

I am not worthy, it is now time for the inevitable toaster-bath.
