Rohan15: So...can I be a ruthless dictator in Tropico?

If you want to be, yes. You can follow certain citizens around who are 'trouble makers'. Perhaps they'll suffer an unfortunate accident, or you'll be out in the open and have your secret police take them out to make an example of them...risking a revolt if your grip isn't quite iron enough.
Patrician IV is coming
Wow Patrician 2 is pretty good, i spent over an hour doing an introductory mission in which i traded mostly beer (low profit, high safety), unfortunately i got greedy and went to one of the more distant towns and ended up buying pretty much everything i could affford, i got left with no money and i though i would make a killing once i returned to my hometown but on the way home a pirate ship attacked me and boarded my ship, i lost EVERYTHING! after that i quit and cried myself to sleep*
*May or not may be true, it's not.

Good to hear you enjoy Patrician 2. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it eventually!
(A quick tip: at the start of a game, invest in iron goods when you can - they are a sure-fire way to earn some good money.)

Thanks, and what do you mean by invest? should i buy iron and sell on Lubeck? i tried that and the profits weren't that good, might have to check again.

No, I meant don't be afraid to buy large quantities of iron goods (of course, only as long as it's not too expensive, I'd say up to 330-350 apiece) as there's a large market for them in the surrounding cities.
Bringing iron ore to Luebeck doesn't always make much of a profit on its own (it CAN do, though), but it ensures a steady supply of iron ore, which will be turned into iron goods.

Oh i see now, thanks. Didn't know that iron ore was transformed in irons goods, this game is pretty deep LOL
I'm glad to say I'll be passing up on this offer this weekend, not really my thing but a very good deal none the less.
"Complete Kalypso strategy collection 50% off".
But when I try it I see $5.99 > $4.19 and $9.99 > $6.99 or a 33% off.

Yes, "Complete Kalypso strategy collection 50% off" is actually completely correct. Or, if you wish, pick and choose just some of the games for 33% off.
Because of this deal, I know GOG.
Because of this deal, I become a GOG member.
Because of this deal, I am now a 6 different strategy games owner
I installed Port Royal...try out for about 1 hour...
I am amazed how it works on my Vista machine
I like the game...Though still haven't get myself to board on enemy ship on manual mode.
I personally owned Zeus...and loved it....but it's acting weird on my Vista. If GOG got them and Poseidon ( or Empire / Pharaoh) I won't mind buying them again =D
I love strategy games....can't wait to see more titles on the shelf =D

Welcome!
May you enjoy your new strategy games and your stay on GOG!
(And here's a hint: you can vote for Zeus and the other city builders on the Wishlist. It may be a mess, but it's better than nothing.
As I remember Commandos was first game I played with my younger brother on our first, brand new PC. Brings back nice memories :-) So now I own C: Ammo Pack and C: 2+3. Hope to find time to finish it all one day. Maybe with my son? :-)
