Voice Pack DLC. Not really anything new (Arc System Works did the same thing with announcer packs, and Square Enix did a Japanese Voice DLC for the Tomb Raider reboot).

Also, Snoop Dog? Really?

I'm not a CoD fan but, If they ever make a Christopher Walken voice pack; I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

DLC that includes a voice of a famous person? I don't see anything wrong with this as long as they don't charge you more than $10 for this kind of DLC. It doesn't give the people who purchase this an unfair advantage over other players.


There should be DLC with Arnold's voice. "Who is your daddy and what does he do?"

But if you play with this DLC, you'll feel so stupid / laugh so hard that you give other players an unfair advantage.

I have never played CoD but I enjoy some of Snoop's work. I think DLC is generally stupid and this is no exception, but I don't see this as sinking any lower than they have previously sunk. If that makes sense.

Is the complaint just because it is Snoop or is it because they are changing for voice packs now?

I honestly don't understand why people hate this thing so much. It's a piece of cosmetic DLC, released post launch. It's not cut content, it won't give you an edge in multiplayer, and it obviously cost them a bit of money to hire Snoop to do this. So if people are willing to pay for these things, then let them. I won't buy it, but that's because I'm not the target audience.

I can't watch the video, but from what I can gather they seem to have recorded alternative voiceovers with celebrity involvement and are selling them as optional DLC. If so, then--

--I think that's awesome. There are some "geek-beloved" VO celebrities I'd pay extra to NOT have voiced my copy of the game. There are games I'm boycotting (as in "might accidentally buy in a bundle, and even then push the slider all the way to the left") because of who voiced them.

For me, there are two types of VO work: (1) normal human speech and (2) "talking to a developmentally challenged baby" speech. Anyone without a speech impediment can manage #1, and #2 shouldn't exist outside of talking to actual developmentally challenged babies. Overpaying for either because the sound was farted out by a famous facehole is not something I want to do, ever.

I'm not that in to the celebrity scene, but didn't he change his name/handle to Snoop Lion or something stupid like that. Not that Snoop Dogg wasn't stupid.

I see an opportunity to make the optional voice packs a necessity. Make the original voice actors so incredibly irritating that you want to purchase another voice pack. I see Roseanne Barr, Louie Anderson, and Bobcat Goldthwait voiceovers becoming great sellers of additional voice packs.

Give me an uncensored version of Gilbert Gottfried and that would be awesome.

I wouldn't be able to understand any of them, so it would be something I tone out.

Well, Putin is actually able to speak German (KGB after all...), so maybe it would be a nice addition to the local version here. ;)
