...About other ways to buy game from gog.
Of course this idea would not replace the current way of buying games, but maybe an additional means of purchasing games here.
Here is the idea.
Sell a gog virtual Game Card. This could be done in say 3 tiers.
Tier One - $25.00 card - 5% savings on games purchased
Tier Two - $50.00 card - 10% savings on games purchased
Tier Three - $75.00 card - 25% savings on games purchased.
It would be nice to see them able to be bought as gifts for others as well.
Of course these could obviously be tweaked but I wonder how many people would do it to save a bit of money when buying games here, or if it would even be feasible from gog's point of view.
Since games on GoG are cheap anyway, I don't think I'd use it - it'd be easier for me to spend 6$, occasionally 10$ from time to time than spending 25$
No thinking allowed.
Just buy.
Yah, the games are generally cheap enough as is. Discounts are going to have to be small as to not eat into GOG's profits. I'm surprised they get away with the bundle-specials they do at the moment. Can't be much of a margin there.
Plus, I have anecdotal evidence of my time here and a fallible memory of all those people on a minimal budget. If $10 is a struggle for some, a multiple of that, which may not even be used immediately, may be hard to sell.
If the catalogue was a higher number, or titles at a higher cost, I could be in a position to agree.
In short: I don't have enough research to decide :)
Actually, it's a fairly good idea as say a gift card. Although I don't think further discounts are needed. A gift card could be good for 3 to 6 games perhaps (depending on price of card), would allow the recipient to get games they'd be interested in while, hopefully, helping to introduce GOG to new people.
If GOG gets more attention from the public, then maybe some actual gift cards (like those iTunes cards you see in stores) would be nice.
Why not just a gift card for the price of a single game? The recipient could get an email with the promo code to the value of either $6 or $10 and they could use it to buy whatver game they wanted. Basically have it like gifting a game but make it a code so the recipient can choose. If someone wanted to gie a larger present, they could just give multiple codes.

Something like this would be nice. Sometimes you want to gift someone, something. But you're not sure if you'll pick out the right thing.
If they pick it out themselves then don't like it they can't complain!
You know what might be cool? A GoG compilation disc. Choose five or ten of the most popular games, slap them onto a DVD and offer a price lower than what you would pay if you bought them all separately. Though this might jeopardize their "No DRM" policy...
Also have it come with a code to activate it onto your GoG account.

Yeah but then they'd have to pay for designing covers & dsc art, printing both cover and dsc, and getting the discs pressed (assuming you want better quality than something you could do at home).it'd probably be more expensive than its worth since they'd have to do them special to order.
If a "deluxe" order could be done, that sends out the game on a GOG branded DVD, it could work at a higher price (cost of materials, labour, shipping added). We must be getting POD (for smaller volume) costs down for CD/DVD media by now.
The only problem would be for GOG to get non-digital distribution rights, and enough people to make it worth their while. A profit may be possible, but he hours to get it may be best redirected elsewhere.

I don't think that the distribution rights would be a problem but you have answered your own query, physical media has a cost to it, man hours, postage costs, packaging etc. Why change from what it is doing?
GOG's main selling points include downloading whenever you loose the item you've bought. That cannot be extended for physical media so a new price structure must be considered.
Keep it as it GOG, Aliasalpha has the better idea.
Elmodiddly: Yeah, I was aiming to break down my own said suggestion deliberately as one way of showing it is a little tricky to accomplish right now :)
I'm either too subtle or not even close. Occasionally, I'm way of the mark of anything intelligent such that I could not find my way out of the local bakery. But that's not important right now. What Is important is that I've got some gaming to catch up on.
i tried thinking last week and lets just say it's over reated

I like this idea. I was going to gift a game to someone at Christmas, but I did not know what types of games they liked. I did not want to get them something they had no interest in playing.
