Can't wait for the full game in March. It's my favorite amount of difficulty and it reminds me of some older pc games for some reason. The demo has two levels and online co-op. I really hope they do a PC port similar to DMC4 and not similar to GTA4.
I know its not a PC game (yet), and its certainly not old (hasn't come out yet) but I figured we could talk about it at least.
DOHOHO, it seems someone has given me the wonderful gift of a negative point. Its all I ever wanted for the holidays, thank you kind sir!

While 4 was a decent game i didnt really like the turn the series took. 5 looks like it is going to be pure garbage to me.
I heard somewhere that it will eventually be coming to PC. It looks fantastic and if it sticks to the core gameplay of RE4 it should be a fantastic game.

I bet on this :-P You know, Capcom released any single "major" Resident Evil game on the PC, so the same thing will surely happen with the fifth.
Furthermore, Capcom itself said that they develop their games on a PC-custom machine, with multi-platforming in mind....
RE... I've had the first third games on my hard disk for too much time now. I think I'll colour by red and splattered brains pieces my Christmas :-D

I played the demo too, pretty scary, but I still think that RE5 (or Biohazard, whatever you want to call it) should dial up the gore and scariness.

They've definitely toned down the gore and scariness. The chainsaw to the neck cutscene has been toned down where you don't even see the head fall of or the headless body. RE4 had all these animations for when you fail a QTS and they were all fairly gory, I'm going to guess they won't be nearly as gory in RE5.
They also need to make the laser more visible. It might not be realistic (having a visible red laser pointer in broad daylight) but I think accuracy is absolutely necessary in a game with dozens of enemies and low amounts of ammunition.
RE4 was too action-y to be scary but the game mechanics were also too limited to be a decent action game. Standing still to aim? No strafing? Pffft! Nuts to that.
Also I know coherent plotlines have never been a strong point in the RE series, but without the horror aspect the cheesy dialogue and crazy nonsensical events stand out a lot more.
As for RE5, I have high hopes. The Hotel Rawanda-esque crazed mobs of black people zombies look terrifying. Because you know... black people are scary scary mofos. Just watch Samuel L. Jackson in pretty much any movie he's ever appeared.
It should be very fun, hopefully they'll provide the amount of ambiance that is required for scariness.

True, but in fact a game with a great atmosphere doesn't necessarily need these things, especially if it's a Japanese game, lol :-D
But for what I've seen (I've not played too much RE 4 on the PC and the PS2 for now, only some parts) the atmosphere (horror, tension, suspense, call it what you want) is tangible, even if surely has the WORST control system I've ever seen. Ever. Damn Capcom....

If its the japanese demo you're playing, then thats probably why its less gory. The japanese version of RE4 didn't have a lot of the gore either.
I played the RE5 demo at the Tokyo game show a few months back, and was totally underwhelmed. 20 minutes on a busy gameshow floor probably aren't the best way to experience that kind of game, but it didn't feel remotely like a horror game. The original setting infact made it feel like any old generic middle eastern action game.
Shooting random wandering figures as they walked around some desert shacks, and trying to pick up incongruously glowing ammo off the floor. Didn't impress me at all. But i bet i'm in the minority...
