$71 bucks here: http://www.provantage.com/ch~880CHPD.htm (cheap shipping, too)
$74 at Newegg: http://www.provantage.com/ch~880CHPD.htm

Hmm, looks like Amazon itself also sells it for $74 + free shipping.

This has me wanting to replace my old and worn Logi Strike Force, but I'd miss the twist and the throttle slider. Not sure I can convince the wife to let me blow almost $300 for the complete CH package. Maybe I can rip apart the old Logi and see if I can get it working better again. No loss at this point if I kill it...

I tried this...Wanted to dip potentiometers in special fluid for regenerating pots - but I screw and had to buy new one. Those pots and cables inside are very delicate/small and hard to dismantle and you really have to know what you are doing.
Ah. My pots are so-so, couple dirty ones (rudder twist and throttle), but the big issue is that the centering springs are worn pretty badly. I might give it a shot this weekend if the weather is crappy. And if I screw it up, guess that means I get a new joystick. Could be worse... : )

From what I remember there are NO centering springs. There is only 1 spring at the center of joy.
see some pictures here (article is in polish - but it's interesting - about home-made improving Logitech joy)

Interesting. Guess I should pull out the camera if / when I do this.

Edit: (secretly hoping I screw it all up so I can get a new one)
