I'm so glad that there's someone to preserve the awesome legacy of old PC games. I've linked this to everyone I know and everyone is buying at least one game - including my father, who is in his mid 60s and misses old Panzer General-ish strat games

I am probably quite late but I can't express enough how grateful I am for having found this

edit: I myself bought the old Planescape and Baldur's Gate/Icecrown Dale games

Glad to have you around. Quick bit of advice that will keep people from jumping on you is to read the stickies. Especially this one;

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/gog_forums_frequently_asked_questions

And this site is where you can vote for any games you want GOG to get, so we don't end up with a ton of "Please get this game on GOG!" threads cluttering up the forums.

http://www.gog.com/en/wishlist/

Other than that we tend to be passionate but also fairly laid back. Enjoy your stay and the games. :)
A hearty welcome to you, mate! I hope you enjoy your stay, it's a fantastic community here - oh, and I'll go ahead and put in a plug for Neverwinter Nights, considering your evident tastes ;D

Oh, I figured not to ask for things like System Shock 2 and the really old Lucasarts games. I kinda figured out what CD Projekt is doing in terms of copyrights - and I support it whole heartedly. My MO at this point is just to show this site to as many PC gamers as I can find

edit: You're really right about NWN. I still have the original discs sitting here uselessly

Go and buy Outcast, then browse it's forums and install le Patch. Don't ask why, just trust me and do it.

I had been eyeing that, so for $6 plus a personal recommendation I don't see why not

Everyone should be as awesome as you and buy it. Welcome to GoG, by the way.

I have a copy of the Gold edition with spiral bound manual, and a hard copy of the Diamond edition, plus a copy here on GOG of the Diamond edition. It's uh...one of my favorites :D
it's a wonderful site isn't it?

well thank you!

I'm so used to the stupid WoW community where everyone is a big damn jerk. nice to find one where people have constructive suggestions for once
Welcome to the community! I recommend changing your avatar to something from the Crusader series!
Welcome to GOG.

If you spend enough time on the forums, you will find it to be almost completely unregulated by GOG staff, but, against all logic, it functions, despite the lunatics running the asylum. Just remember: some of us are more sane than others. Just don't make eye contact with the psychos and you will do fine. Naming no names.

Also, If you have any particular games that catch your fancy, beyond those you have already purchased, I would recommend sitting on them for a while before purchase to see if they pop up in a weekend deal, or in the new 24h sales GOG seem to be starting. Keep an eye out as well for the spring sale which should, judging by past sales, start in the next month or two.

Enjoy your stay.

This will be my first GOG-spring ... cool, didn't know GOG had a big spring sale. Of course my backlog from the GOG Xmas sale is already huge, don't know if I can really get anymore.

------------

Welcome to GOG!

Oh yeah? MY copy of the NWN1 play disc was used so much its cracked almost to the foil! Beat that!
We should probably mention that on ever Wednesday this month GOG is having a 24 hour sale on a game.

So far it was King's Bounty for 75% off and Tropico Reloaded for 60% off.

Also there's a sale almost every weekend.

New games are usually released on Tuesday, sometimes Thursday, and occasionally both days.
