In case anyone was wondering, reinstalling it seems to have fixed my freezing issues. I love it.
I thought the mouse control was pretty awful. It keeps looking down whenever I grapple onto something.
Car control is improved, but still pretty bad.
The world looks pretty amazing, and it is not longer bloomed out to the freakin' max (thank gawd), but it still feels empty and shallow. I kept unlocking missions that were the same boring, repetitive sidemissions from the first game.
Maybe when it's cheap.

What did you think of the motion blur? I hated it.

It's not like I've seen a GOOD motion blur anywhere, unless it's barely noticeable...
JC1 was bad. Truly bad. I rather stick with a GUN or true GTAs.
I found it surprisingly dull for a game where you're supposed to be able to do all these cool things. It's like they made things technically possible rather than fun to do.

PoSSeSSeDCoW: Surely you can't think defending this game is a Just Cause. =P

I'm not, I just really wanted to use an obvious pun.
It was a fun demo. I like the open world of it and the grapling hook is a blast to fool around with. It was so fun to blast the top off a tank and then grapple onto it, flying up high and then launching your parachute and gliding down to the next area.
And swapping vehicles and doing crazy jumps from vehicle to vehicle was a blast. It was all so elegant and simple I never really had to think about it, I just did it.
However, I had some control issues. The vehicles controls feel too drastic when you turn and the vehicles sometimes feel a bit light and base jumping was wonky. Perhaps I just need time getting more familiar with them. Thirty minutes isn't a lot of time to get use to a game with this number of control elements.
The story looks horrible. I don't even get why they bother. The facial animations, voice acting and writing are all awful. Do I need a reason to blow up stuff? Not really. Just give me a handful of grenades and some guns and let me have fun. I guess they needed some way to reward you for destruction and encourage you to check out certain cool setpieces, but surely they could have come up with something better.

Maybe you should read my post again. ;)

Oh, NOW I get it! He he!
I was looking foward to this game and the demo is a lot of fun. However the cutscenes and voice overs are godawful. That's a shame, however unlike most sandbox games I haven't got bored of this one in 30 mins...
It is a really fun game and graphics are amazing. But $44.95 is so much for me. I must choose this or Metro 2033 to buy and I will buy Metro 2033 I think and wait for price cut for Just Cause 2.

It looks like time to jump on Win7. I hope it will get cheaper than half of my monthly income ;/
I can't say I was impressed. Maybe the game improves later but based on the demo I will be waiting for a good sale on Steam.
Unfortunately, my machine can't quite handle it, so movements are a bit jerky and sluggish, even with all options down or off.
Nevertheless, I love how you can fluidly go from stunt to stunt. I enjoyed seeing a cliff, running to jump off it, pull open my parachute, spy a car in the distance, release chute, grapple car, stand and roof and fire at pedestrians, whip out driver and steal car, accelerate to high speed, then launch out into a parachute again. I'm really happy that they decided that doing awesome stuff was more important than realistic physics. It seems like it would be a great game if my laptop could play it at a normal speed.
