I played the first few missions for Terran and wow it is pretty amazing I would say the game still looks good and plays very smoothly.

P.S I am a first time player of Starcraft

P.S.S I kinda feel tempted to go back to Wal-mart to Buy Warcraft Battle Chest as I saw it there for the same price and I am more familiar with it's universe by playing wow for about a year and owning some Warcraft books.
Make sure to register your game to your Battle.net account!

Warcraft 3 is still an amazing game, especially the campaign and story, +1 for getting it!
Buy the Warcraft Battlechest, it's really great.
It's a simpler time when they didn't mess up the whole lore/universe with WoW.

I probably will get it some time. Besides it's not like it is really hard to find is it :D.

The first two are just amazing. The third was good for multiplayer while the singleplayer was a bit of a let down.
The first two were presented like real warfare, with logical and strategic objectives and political intrigue.
The third was a typical fantasy let's unite and stop an ancient evil with all kinds of hero melodrama.

I don't think that should stop me from enjoying Warcraft three.

You will. :)
Ok now I have a weird problem. I decided to check the multiplayer to see how many people were on at the very least. asked me for an update so I waited. It finished but now I have weird discolorations all over the menu screens. anyone have any idea what this could be?

Windows 7, nvidia video card?

This is going to sound REALLY weird, but open the display settings window and leave it open then start Starcraft.

I had problems getting it to work perfect with Win7, but once I got into the game everything was fine.
Good choice. Starcraft and Brood War are both sublime games. I hate to be the voice of discord here, but I wasn't that big a fan of Warcraft 3. I didn't like its emphasis on heroes, nor did I like its generic fantasy story (although that's probably mostly due to the fact that I like science fiction far more than fantasy).

I had the discolorations as well, don't remember how I got rid of it. As KavazovAngel said, register your cd key on battle.net, it gives you a free digital copy of SC+BW that you can download instead of installing your physical copy.
About the color problems, run the game as an admin and with 98 / ME compatibility mode...

... and this is the funny part... have the Screen Resolution window open while you're playing the game. :)

Right click on the desktop -> screen resolution, and just minimize it, and start the game with the above mentioned settings.

Well you know it's great and i'm not holding anything against that, i love WC3!
I want to add something.

Warcraft! Part 1 i mean.
It runs A+ with dosBox and it's abandoned wear,
so you hurt nobody if you just DL it. If you are interested
you maybe want to play through this too, in the end, this is Genesis,
and unfiltered awesome. "Welcome to the world of warcraft" ;D
http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/422/Warcraft+-+Orcs+and+Humans.html

I played wow since it came out, and playing through any warcraft,
just made the whole experience better.
Somehow though, i fear it will not be quite the same for a new player.
I want vanilla back... :'<
(I quit with Cata btw)

No, it is not abandonware.
I tried what a lot of you recommended and to no avail :( but I guess it only the menus that suffer. I also made a battlenet account to play multiplayer but i'm not sure I would use it because when it comes to playing rts's online it just seems really hard to get into as a new player as opposed to say a fps. maybe if I played with people I know who knows.
