Hey guys
I just bought a 3ds, but I'm gonna have to save up some more money to buy Pokemon X. I have a good collection of DS games to play on it, but I was wondering if there was anything else to do on it in the meantime.

Also, can you use the Thumbstick with games like Dragon quest? I wanna see how they'll play.

Thanks

Yes you can. At least with DQ6, which is the DS game I'm playing right now.
Yeah, the thumbstick works, but for DS games, its a digital 8. (Not that' there's all that much difference, given the quality of the thumb sliders.)

Cool. I hate playing it on the Dpad, especially since mine isn't getting any better with age.
There's a couple of free to play games available on the eshop, but I can't comment on them.
There is a free to play game from Nintendo called Steel Diver Sub Wars. It's a mediocre FPS but nothing is required to play the online multiplayer. With the few FPS options on the system this is probably one of the better choices.
There are a bunch of demos for various games on the shop. Limited uses but some can be quite fun.
Zelda 4 Swords was temporarily free but it isn't even on the store anymore.
All other F2P games require a purchase to do anything in game or are japan only.

Oh and if it's a new 3DS registering your 3DS on Club Nintendo will give enough coins for Aura-Aura Climber or Kirby's Pinball land. They rotate what games are on there monthly and sometimes you can get something good.
Thanks guys. I'll probably register my 3DS, as its new and I got it for a good price, and see if I can find any good games on the eshop.

EDIT: As it turns out, I have a stash of unregistered codes in my DS games. Haha.

I personally built up a small collection of 3DS games before I ever bought it, I intended to get more before buying it but, if you were curious they were in this order: Fire Emblem Awakening, Project X Zone, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Bravely Default, Conception II (pre-order), Yoshi's New Island. I finally bought it when I got Yoshi, I wanted to also get Rune Factory 4, but never found the inspiration to pick it up. Sorry I couldn't help with your game problem, as I have pretty much just been playing PXZ since I got it and haven't fished around any of the other features.

Maybe you can get a free VC game with your Club Nintendo coins.

Face Raiders! It's a great game!

If you start to get bored of it then watch a family member play it for double enjoyment
You can also try out Rusty's Real Deal Baseball for free. So far my favorite games have been Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pokemon Y.
If you like JRPGs, Bravely Default is one of the best I've played in a long time.

If SRPGs are more your style then you can't go wrong with Fire Emblem.
OP do you heard of dragon quest slime mori mori?

Yeah, I just googled it. Looks cool, but its Japan only, and the 3DS has some stupid regional lockout.

They released Rocket Slime on the DS lite. The game is amusing, but I personally found the battles really annoying.

I thought the tank battles were the best part personally.
