Being a Steam forums user is not necessary I guess. And I think why he doesn't want your Steam account to be private is to be able to check out the games you own. If you already have Killing Floor on your account, winning that one wouldn't be so cool for other entrants.

Why would someone apply for a game they already own?

You apply for the entire list, not for a single game. And again, this is just my guess.

If it's the same as last year's contest, you don't have to be an active member on BOTH forums, only either one. He also posted the same contest in SPUF, so in away we're COMPETING with SPUF members.

mojoman69: I wish I had a good rep(20+) as well to enter. I agree the rep should be lower, maybe I'm biased as because I only have rep of 16.

With Steam all you need is 20 rep which means you can get enough rep from just a couple of reps from other members because I remember getting 28 rep points for just one of my posts in steam forums..

I think 10 rep would be good compared to steams 20.

Just hope I can be helpful enough over the next few weeks to be able to enter.

You are right, but you know, there are some other things why someone have private account ... there should be option to show the list of games to the creator of contest - maybe he accept it by pm :) ... I dont know ... so - could ne_zavarj answer?
