Not backed (yet) .Im still wondering whether the SP portion (Huge is one thing - any good is another) will be worth it AND have a competent/good AI as it does seem game might be more MP focused....

multiplayer...no thanks, anything that focus on multiplayer and co-op is not woth backing (for me at least)

Well, as much as I don't care about multiplayer it does make sense that this game would have it, being a turn-based tactics boardgamey game, it would be like releasing a computer game version of Chess but without multiplayer. But that said, they have promised a huge single-player campaign. Of course enemy AI will be makes or breaks this game for me.

Chaos Reborn builds on this, adding several new features:
Multiplayer online matches - asynchronous or live
Offline multiplayer battles on one machine (hotseat mode)
Online rankings and league system
Tournaments with prizes
Extensive co-op options, for multiplayer matches - 2 vs 2, or human co-op vs AI players
Guild system with guild rankings and guild tournaments
Trade items and equipment with your friends or guild members
....
That is enough to turn me off :D

It is also going to have an extensive and procedurally generated single player campaign. The MP is in place right now to test mechanics / animations / assets.

"A major innovation in the Chaos system is the vast single-player RPG experience called the ‘Realms of Chaos’. You start as a new wizard with just a few spells and you must explore the Realms of Chaos, defeating the Wizard Kings that rule them in order to build your power and magical knowledge.

When you enter a Realm you must seek out and defeat the Wizard Lords, the loyal minions of the Wizard King. As you travel the Wizard King will build his power and reinforce his Wizard Lords, so efficient exploration and effective combat are the keys to success in the Realms. You will discover things to help you and hinder you along the way, and you will build your spell knowledge and equipment as your progress. Once all the Wizard Lords are defeated you can challenge the Wizard King, and if you are victorious you are certain to win valuable treasures and potentially rare or unique artefacts. It's also worth mentioning that the prototype is now public, and Julian asked to distribute it wherever possible. ^_^

Keep in mind that there still could be a bug when you enter a waiting queue for a game, exit it before the game starts,
and enter another queue right away. The server seems to miss the cancelation sometimes, and it's possible to end up in several games simultaneously that way, making it unplayable for a while. The most sure way to avoid this is to join a random game only if you're ready to wait until it actually starts.

They can claim many things, but if they put efforts and resource on co-op and online multiplayer it means they are not putting them in the single player campaign, again that's a huge NO for me.
One example, divinity original sin, they ended up not using the day/night cycle because of all the effort on the co-op campaign, the game is great but it could have been the best in a long time but now it's just great because of a feature that I dont see the point even less in an rpg related with multiplayer and online system, that was the last time I backed a game with online or co-op features.

Co-op was in from day one. They didn't add in day-night cycle because of the added complexity which they underestimated sadly.

From way i read it,its because they wanted to spend more time squashing the bugs etc...and hoping enterprising modders down the track will end up doing it....

Swen said it on switch.tv (while playing the beta for the first time) and in the last update, adding the day-night cycle would be a pain because they need to test it with single player and with the co-op so it would take a huge amount of time and money to do it, yes it was implemented from day one (the co-op) that doesn't mean they didnt spent a lot of resources on that while they could have spent it on other things like the day-night cycle from the start.
I backed the game because I love divine and beyond divinity but again I wont back any other kick that focus mainly on co-op or multi, that's just my opinion I'm not saying that focusing on multi or co-op it's a bad thing I personally dont like it.

I wish the models for the creatures were a bit more detailed, and less one-tone. But I am guessing that the way they look now is just an artifact of the game being in production. Cool game, though.

Furthermore, I hope they make the game maps/environments less one note as well. Ditto for gameplay and UI.
