Of course it doesn't seem to be fully up to speed and is working in mixed results, but I'm pretty excited. Are you?

I'd be excited if they fixed all the fucking bugs on the site first.

Why won't they let me buffer more than five seconds of video? Why can't I set the default view quality, and I have to force videos to play at 720p -every time-? WHY DO WE STILL HAVE TO USE GOOGLE PLUS TO DO ANYTHING?

long as I can turn it off. youtube cuts into my cap enough, and doubling the framerate is scary as all hell.

It is. For three videos. Its a start. They'll probably stick it in testube like HTML5.

This is awesome!

I remember times when I wanted to see the real difference between 30fps and 60fps in some games real time but I couldn't. I'm sure that there are other websites or methods to do that but having it on youtube is goint to be more accessible (or that's what I hope).

I wonder if they will keep increasing the limit. I think that yes, but who knows.

The major thing stopping everyone from increasing the limits on things in terms of the internet world is our good media cartels in the USA. You know, Comcast, Charter, the entire MPAA...

What's the problem with those companies? I'm not from the U.S.A and I see a lot of people complaining about them. I don't remember what were the specific problems, only that they were bad. I'm really curious about it.

Yeah, those are all "features" that don't even fucking work properly. A browser plugin called Youtube Center fixes some of those problems, but the buffering issue I've not found a fix for. The buffering is more for their own sake, as it reduces the bandwidth usage when people open a tab and don't finish watching the video.

I only just found this out myself, but there are browser add-ons that will do the job! search "youtube high definition" in the add-ons or extensions library for your browser :)

There are sites that often have 30fps v 60fps footage.
TB recently linked to a couple of them (can`t be fussed to dig them up though ;p)

Be interesting to see, just hope they don`t feck things up as per usual.

P.S. Get rid of G+!!!!!
