Here at GOG.com, we're all about our users and the partners who decided to join the crazy ride into the DRM-free PC gaming. We stick with them through sickness and health, the good and the bad times. As you may have heard, JoWooD is having some tough times lately. Together with the publisher we've decided to give you a chance to get your hands on all the JoWooD titles you're eagerly wanting to buy, but maybe haven't yet. Well, now's your chance to grab those gems at a heckuva bargain!

In this special week-long promo we encourage everyone to get JoWood games with an up to 75% discount! The catalogue includes such gems from PC gaming's past like , [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gothic_2_gold_edition]Gothic 2, , [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/the_guild_gold_edition]The Guild and more. If you buy all games from JoWood's catalogue, or complete the collection, you'll receive a 75% discount! If you're interested only in some games from the offer, you can still get them for bargain with 60% off! The promo ends on Tuesday, May 3 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Since you guys are all going to be asking: we don't know what the future holds for JoWooD. To be safe, though, we recommend that you download any JoWooD titles you've purchased--either from this promo or not--and archive a backup of the GOG installer, because it never hurts to be safe.
After only selecting the titles I wanted, I discovered I would only save about 2 bucks by not buying all of them. I am now the proud owner of all GOG JoWooD titles!
Seeing that JoWood is dead now, this is definitely a "must" deal since one doesn't know if the games will remain for sale on GOG...

For me it's nine games for 11.18€ (according to Google) so why not, even if one is only interested in one or two? Well, I have the for me interesting ones (that I don't already own on GOG) on CDs or something already, but GOG will enable me to play them in English and in the worst case redownload whenever and wherever I want (if I have an internet connection). :-)

Well you got me. I own them all now.

However, you also sent me into a paranoid downloading of every installer/bonus content that I have.

I've downloaded all of the games and the associated goodies, but for some titles I did this quite a while ago. It would be great to know if GOG has made any improvements to these titles (thus needing another download), especially if there is a chance they will disappear. I know that there was a thread a while back asking for GOG to implement version numbers, but I don't think it ever happened.
You know, the above post just gave me an idea (I would hope I'm not the first to think of this), but why don't we havce "revision" numbers on all the games??

Say, when it first releases on GOG it's v1.0, but if any improvements are made the number changes of course. Or even something as simple as "release A", then "release B". This would also be tied to the title of the download file and setup, that way we can instantly know if we have the "latest" enhanced GOG download.

I suppose someone will flame me a say "they already do that", lol. :)

Some way of tracking updates would be very useful. If nothing else a simple version number or sfv file to check against.
Just bought Painkiller just because I like shooter stuff.

But I'm very hesitant about getting other titles since I have serious backlog of games that I haven't play. There's couple of interesting titles that I wanna pick up but I'm not sure if I'd play them or not.

Downloading Painkiller since it may be no longer on GoG and I have no idea how to back the game up on disc. X.X Oy vey.

That's what I get for being uber computer literate.

If you mean harddisk then just make a painkiller_install folder and put all the files you pull of of gog there, nothing more is needed really and if you want to backup to external media just copy the folder.

Oh thanks for the tip! Much appreciated it. :D
I caved and bought all the games I didn't really want.
But don't mistake that for approval GOG!
I just did it because I felt bad for Jowood.. and because I'm a shopaholic.
Thanks for this! I've been interested in many of these titles! I just went on a shopping spree though, I'll have to return some games so I can get the whole pack!

Demon Souls can wait for now lol. I'm still playing Oblivion (after 3 and a half years it's still my only RPG).

This would actually be fantastic, since it's hard to know there's been an update unless you obsessively check every forum.

I really, really can't recommend playing Demon's Souls enough. It's an absolutely brilliant game, and of everything in this pack I'd say only Gothic II rivals it.

I already owned the JoWood's that I wanted and was going to pass on the remaining seven. . . but at $1.49 for most. I couldn't pass up a real deal . . so I spent $11.50 for seven games I may / may not like . . . =)
There seems to be a lot of talk in this topic about "Oh, JoWooD is going, so the games will get pulled". Can somebody please tell me:

a) Are you certain that the JoWooD games will disappear?
b) IF they disappear, will they still be available on GOG to people who have bought them?
