I played for 25 minutes this morning before coming to work because I didn't want to wait until after work. It keep thinking about it. I met this other avatar and we worked out some puzzles together, then I had to go to work. I don't know what happened from his or her point of view when I quit the game. I could not communicate what I was doing or why. I feel like I abondoned a good ally. It is bizzare to me that I felt such a bond in souch a short time with this other avatar.

The game itself looks fantastic with simple and elegant controls and a game mechanic that makes it tremendous fun just to move around the world. Add to this the feeling of discovery and the really interesting multiplayer...I think this morning could be on the short list of my "best gaming moments ever."
This is the one game that makes me regret I don't have a PS3. It looks so strange and awesome and I'd love to play it myself. :(

In other words, it wasn't me. ;)
It's a very unique and beautiful experience to say the least.
I played and completed it in one night.

It's probably one of my favourite games, if not my favourite game. It's incredible and personally I think it's flawless.

Totally agree with the bond formed between another avatar, I felt pretty sad when one of my partners left the game half way through.

I actually agree with this. Journey is probably the only game I've played where I can say there is nothing in the game I'd rather be without. It is very short, but perfectly formed. A singular vision realized without adding any unnecessary fluff.

Certainly makes a strong argument for movie-length games.

And it was better the second time, too.

Agree and agree! It is certainly in my favourite games ever! The music, visuals, gameplay and concept were so perfect! Generally, I enjoy indie games more because they have much better focus than AAA games (and obviously more original!)...

That's actually the pinnacle of gaming, you felt a connection with that other person, it didn't matter that the world wasn't real or that what you were doing was in a game, the connection and feelings were real.

Sorry, I'm reading Jane McGonigal's Reality is Broken right now, this is one of the basic premises of the book. Compared to gaming, reality is broken for a number of things, including reinforcing social bonds.

It's fascinating. You can never interact to the other player in any other way apart from a single chime. However I probably became closer and more attached to my partner in those 2 hours than I have in any other game. During the endgame, I actually lost sight of my partner and couldn't find him. I did genuinely feel a sense of loss. It was incredible.
I finally got around to playing this game. $15 for about 2 hours? Definitely worth it. This is the only game to ever make me shed a manly tear.

If you have a ps3, and haven't played it yet: highly, highly recommended.
