Catshade: I'm confident that McAfee is an innocent man. He was framed by Norton, the real murderer. Open your eyes, people!
Norton was framed. It was Kapersky!
Gregory Faull couldn't have been too surprised. John McAfee's namesake, as inadequate as it may have been, was intended to kill viruses. Clearly, McAfee wanted to defend his reputation and finally make good on that promise. Gregory Faull surely had a virus or two, and John McAfee intended to eradicate those viruses, by any means necessary.

Kaspersky's son was kidnapped (and returned) last year. It's too quiet in Norton realm.

spindown: I love this comment on the wired.com article:

"The fair thing for authorities to do would be to give McAfee a free 30-day trial."

oldschool: You would think a guy that sold he old company back in the 90's for 100 million dollars would just retire to some remote island. The one thing that puzzles me is that he says that he not guilty, if that's true why is he hiding from the authorities?
Because even in the US it's better to go on the run if you can. Jury trials are unpredictable at best and tend to be biased in favor of conviction.

And that's assuming that the justice system is functioning. I have no idea what the status of the justice system in Belize, but it would have to be far better than the one in the US for me to have any faith in it.

tomimt: This is indeed an odd tale. Could make a good movie really.
Kind of reminds me of that "Kony 2012" organizator who was caught masturbating in public

I prefer the expression "Jacking it in San Diego".
