Damn, we're growing so fast that soon we'll have to move to a bigger office or even build ourselves a skyscraper! But let's get to the point. We're looking for talented people who want to work in the gaming industry for GOG.com's glorious future. If you're a webdesigner or webdeveloper, have love for good old games (if not, then what are you doing here?) and would be able to live and work in Warsaw (Poland), then maybe it's you who'll be working on new assets for all those great games that are coming to GOG.com or who'll be developing those cool new features we have planned. Check [url=http://www.gog.com/en/page/work]the detailed job offers here, and if you feel you're the one we're looking for send us your resume. We're counting on you talented GOGers!

Maxxer: GOG needs GOG game testers :3

Dibs on that job

Vestin: I'm pretty sure that's a lot more tedious and a lot less exciting than you think...
Thats why i want to do it :D
You should work some kind of remote offsite work otherwise it's great reading this work position openings on the site, but not for any other purpose than some fun reading to non-polish visitors to the site.
Man, I hope GOG will one day need a mechanic that can also build and fix computers, at least individual PCs, never tried building a server because, seriously, when would I have an opportunity to actually do so for personal use?

Hell, I'll even sweep floors just so I can have a peaceful job and I already live in Warsaw, damn near the middle of it (Wola AKA Mlynow...).
Yup - English is commonly used every day at the office. We've got American, French and Russian staff at GOG, so be assured we use English every day to communicate. We tried sign language for some time, but it is damn too hard to master :)

hansschmucker: Is speaking Polish a requirement? Or is English practically the second office language anyway?

I know it seems strange to ask the question in the forums, but hey: I like things simple and asking here seems much more straight-forward than preparing something when there's no chance anyway.
What I would to to work for GOG..

Alas, I'm am not skilled in web development or live in Poland. :(
I can do the design side of things. Not so hot on the coding though. Certainly not when it comes to anything more complex than CSS and XHTML.

klaymen: I wish GOG would search for totally useless people, then I could apply.
Customer support positions the world over are crying out for more people like you.

I've always been curious as to what the work culture is like at GOG. Is it laid back but still getting things done or is it all cubicle hell and such?

Whenever you make one? :)

Having a server at home is really useful. Just added PBX functionality to mine (Asterisk) :D
Years of PHP, jQuery, MySQL and general Ajax/Web2.0 experience, even good Linux and C++/Qt experience... apart from the usual basic experience in other languages and systems which I tried for some time.

Oh how I would love to apply for this job... sadly I'm sitting in Germany and I don't want to move :/

Yes, but tell me why would I make a server if I don't wish to host something?

Because servers can do more than just hosting. Donkey (my home server) does loads of things and I'm not even finished giving her things to do. Being a PBX is just the latest :P

Cook: Kurina, you're already our "Official Fangirl", but unfortunately the post is not paid.
Happy enough with the title! :)

And since that is the case, a Duke Nukem Manhatten Project code for whomever. Another to follow later this evening when I get a chance.

Like what, data storage?

I ask because it doesn't seem like a server would ever fit my needs. External HDs are cheap nowadays.

/facepalm (in a positive way)

... What's next.. your server providing wireless / satellite / cable internet connectivity for the neighbors? :D
