It does not function on OS X 10.6 with a 32bit Intel CPU as it seems.
This is what happened to me on my MacBook:

Yes. Is it enough to replace the wget command? Hmm...will simply try it.
Xenon1170: Can't compile x86 file on a x64 arch, if u compile wget 1.12.tar.gz on your x86 arch, send me the executable so i update package... I could send you both 1.12 or the newer 1.13.4 (both built on my MacBook CoreDuo 32bit). It's your choice.
@all: Yes, that solved it. I just replaced the wget executable.
However, the GUI seems to be pretty messed up. Screenshot:

Here?
http://www.xenon1170.com/it/sperosoft-downloads-it.html
The web-site still says 64bit.
Thanks in the name of all Inte 32bit users. Sadly, more and more applications get compiled for 64bit only, since most Intel Macs are 64bit anyway (CoreDuo was 32bit, then came Core2Duo, etc.) It's often applications, that see no benefit from 64bit, so it's snobbery of the developers and I can't use those apps on my 2006 Macbook (which is functioning very nicely, besides that and has no speed or RAM penalty at all).

I will start to work again on this project to make it completely java native soon. I found some useful class in an Apache library. Does anyone knows if using Apache's classes makes non valid the WTFPL licence for it?

That means, your part can still be WTF. However you must state that the Apache part is not WTF, but ASL. :)
I took my knowledge from wikipedia, so you might want to check with the apache people if you want to be completely secure about it.

I just tried it and it worked alright. Is there a possibility to change the download location as I would prefer to leave the application on my SSD but the download location same 2TB HDD I keep all my GOG files? I would prefer if one could see the current download speed somewhere (maybe I missed it?).
EDIT: I forgot. Does the app use any kind of securyity features like encrypting the password when sending info to the GOG servers to access one's account? Games are cheap here but still, I would prefer to be on the safe side.
