I couldn't have said it better myself. Unfortunately, most of the heavyweights in the industry disagree. Rather than changing their own ways to be competitive, they try to eliminate the competition. A task which is as futile as trying to empty a lake using a sieve.

Or you know, they think the best way to get money is to just continue selling the same game over and over again.
Not only GOG, but all the successful players in the industry. Be it GOG, Valve, Netflix or Amazon. All have copied from the concept of piracy and it works.
Who is Jeff Gerstman?

Nice picture, OP.

While piracy will never go away, the best option to overcome it is to provide a better service. GOG, Steam, and other companies in other digital formats (books, movies, etc.) do this, and that's why they've been successful.

He played that "chaos theory" guy in Jurassic Park.
That was jeff Goldblum :)
Steam is more convenient than free and probably the best example of what he is saying.

if you are into gaming culture you surely heard about him. even if you don't know his name :)

what happened to him is the reason why i don't touch "professional" reviews anymore. metascores, reviews in magazines or websites... irrelevant. don't read, don't care.

Maybe they have a different service here. Steam seems to constantly try and piss me off. Who thought it'd be a great idea to store graphics settings in the cloud, and then force people to either download or upload 'em when using a different computer..

Never had that happen. Also you can turn off the cloud.

Pretending people find Steam annoying in general isn't doing you any favors.
