enterprise2004: The movie is the pilot for the show, and it wasn't included in the Season 1 box set.

I just finished watching Babylon 5 for the first time last month. Wonderful series. Season 1 is a bit painful at times, but season 2 is where things start to get interesting. Plus the main actor is replaced by someone who can actually act. The acting does improve over the course of the series. The layout Sielle is absolutely necessary, I've only seen the 5 seasons and got along just fine. I think all 5 seasons are on instant on Netflix.
I'd say the only things that really make much of a difference are watching "The Gathering" first and avoiding "In the Beginning" until after season 4. Everything else is just the recommended best watch order, but not required. :)

and writting for this episode was weak.

should i bother with the series?
Babylon 5 is one the best sci-fi series ever. If you can get into it, the experience will be extremely rewarding.

Nergal01: RIP Jeff. :(

Joining Richard Biggs, Andreas Katsulas and Tim Choate in a place where no shadows fall, hopefully.
I knew that Biggs and Katsulas (one of the "few very notable exceptions" I mentioned above) had died a while back, but I had no idea that Tim "Zathras" Choate was also dead. He has to be one of my favorite non-regular characters from the show.

He died in an accident with his motorcycle back in 2004. :(

Hopefully he was having a good ride right up until the point where he wasn't. Always sad to learn when another rider goes down. =(

I definitely want to watch the movies! I may get around to picking them up on DVD eventually.
