Anyone up for some? I played the hell out of Outcast when I was younger. Too bad the CD broke. :( But now I have it on Steam, so I can play it again!

I'll be up for some!
Just purchased the collection (but it looks like LEC have done jack sh*t with making Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II work on modern computers).
I guess they spent all their time and resources on twitter hyping.
Steering back... Yep, I'll be up for some online sessions tomorrow onwards.
Ranting further...
I bet if LEC offered these games to GOG, GOG would refuse to add them to their catalogue in fear of damaging their reputation or becoming known as sellers of broken software.
Ranting over.

Aw man, I so wanted to have that pack. I only have a few bucks in mah Paypal balance. Few as in 10.17.

I pretty much said exactly that on the LA Workshop blog. I had originally posted to add my support behind them considering GOG for releasing their games, but after reading about the mess they made of DF2, I had to retract that support. I don't want them to even try dumping a load like that on GOG.

GOG handles a lot of the work needed to update the titles so as to ensure they run on modern hardware. That's one of the reasons I'd rather their games were here.

That's really odd, because apart from there being no Audio CD content (maybe, I heard music in the cantina but I'm not sure if that counts) and all the menus and cutscenes running in windowed mode, it's been working fine for me.

Have you tried to turn on the "3D acceleration" box in the graphic options menu?

GOG only handles that when the rights holders allow them to, which I really doubt LA would ever do. Most of what GOG does actually doesn't involve fixing problems in the game code itself, it just involves things like creating a working DOSBox or ScummVM config and creating a whole new installer.

Yes, I was using that while playing. Why, are you having problems with it?

There is no audio CD content, which is not really acceptable. The cutscenes had the audio included in the video files, so they never used the CD audio in the first place.

You are the exception to the rule then. Even Valve is advising people to use it at their own risk.

I'd go for Academy, unless you're buying me Outcast.

Ouch. Sometimes I feel like the people at Valve are pissed off over the quality of some of the games on the service, yet don't want to scare off big publishers by actually implementing the standards they should have.
On-topic: I'd go for Outcast, unless you're buying me Academy.

Wow, this the hilarious (in a way...) thing I've seen on a website who actually SELL this game. So many precautions to take, so many "not sure if it work on your computer". They could have at least released a free playable demo...
The "try at your own risk" sentence seems from an abandonware, or even a warez site. Geez...

At least they tried to make it control more like a modern shooter by incorporating a "modern" control scheme you can boot up.

That's (very) small comfort when the game barely even works for many people.
